What is Masters Swimming?

Masters swimming keeps you young at heart. Coached sessions tailored to your ability get you fitter than swimming on your own. Advice from professional coaches will bring out the best in you, make the swim more interesting and push you to the next level.

“I swim three times a week and we try to keep the session simple, so ten minutes of warm up, then 1000m of one stroke followed by 2000m of another. It is so much more fun than running.

Swimming makes people feel good. Whether it’s for fun or even competition, swimming has the ability to offer good fun at every stage of life from cradle to grave. It’s never too early and never too late to have fun and fitness in your life.

“When I first started coming here a year ago I could barely swim eight lengths and I was feeling my age. Now I walk faster, I’m a bit thinner and you learn how to breathe better.”

Ever wanted to dive off a starting block?

This is your chance. At Masters you can learn and experience the excitement of competition with opportunities to compete within your age category.

“I entered my first ever swimming competition and won my age group. I was stunned by the result!

Fancy a challenge? With regular Masters swimming you can challenge yourself and track your progress. Whether your goal is speed, distance or just regular swimming to keep fit, Masters can help you achieve it.

“Join a club. You don’t have to think about the programme, they give you tips here. It really improves your swimming.”

Masters is more than swimming. Masters clubs offer fun, fitness and friendship both in and out of the pool. It’s a great way to socialise with likeminded people and we always give new members a warm welcome. Come along and get to know us.
