2020/2021 Board and Committee Chairs Appointed

For the first time in my 36 years at Scottsdale Ranch, the SRCA Homeowners’ Annual Meeting was held virtually via Zoom webinar software. Overall, the meeting accomplished what it was designed to do which was to elect the new board members and comply with AZ state statute. There were approximately 35 homeowners that joined the meeting and were able to participate during the Q & A portion of the meeting. Matt Metz and Michele Holzman were elected to a two-year term.

Scottsdale Ranch bid farewell to two valued members of the Board of Directors that evening, Mike Breslin and Brian Munson. Both Mike and Brian served on the Scottsdale Ranch Board for the last 6 years. Both members dedicated countless hours to the board and various committees, sharing with us their vast knowledge and expertise of the HOA industry. Fortunately, both Mike and Brian will be continuing on the many committees they had been a part of. Thank you both for your leadership and commitment to SRCA.

I look forward to the upcoming year assisting the board in reaching its goals and objec tives. That vision is accomplished through a team effort; a team of volunteers, residents and association staff.

The Board of Directors meets on the 4th Tuesday of every month at 4:30 p.m. in the Scottsdale Ranch Conference Room. Meetings are open to the membership. We encourage you to attend.

Board Briefs

MAY • Preliminary drawings were approved for the enhancement of the current entryway monuments. • Board reviewed and approved phasing plan of the reopening of the office and amenities.

JUNE • Nina Munson was appointed to the open seat on the Board of Directors. • Board officers and committee chairs for 2020/2021 were appointed. • Property and liability insurance policies were reviewed and approved for 2020/2021. • Revisions were approved to the security equipment language in the Architectural

Guidelines. • A subcommittee of members from the

Architectural Committee and ad hoc committee of homeowners is being put together to revisit the Edison lights rule. • Adopted a policy for staff to assess fines and appeals of homeowners to come before the board. • It was decided to not move to Phase 2 of the reopening, keeping the community center, office and amenities closed to the public. • Staff asked to put together board training for new and existing members.

THE SRCA OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 7TH IN OBSERVANCE OF LABOR DAY.
