President’s Message

You can call it “Thanksgiving in summer” or simply a mis-timed message, but in this edition of the President’s Message I want to give thanks for the many people who make life in Scottsdale Ranch so wonderful.

The great property values and enjoyable quality of life we all enjoy in this community are no accident. They are a result of the individual and combined efforts and skills of so many who contribute.

We have an incredible, customer-focused staff, led by our most experienced Executive Director who, with the help of her staff and many volunteers, keep our facilities top-notch and our social events so much fun. The staff make it possible for us to read and hear about our many events, take advantage of our wonderful facilities for holding those events, keep us fiscally sound and transparent, maintain our assets, and keep our standards so high. The next time you call or drop in to the SRCA office, please express your appreciation for all they do.

Our staff and our board of directors are enabled by the scores of SRCA residents – you and your neighbors – who donate their time and abilities to plan our events and make sure they go smoothly. They serve on numerous committees including Architectural, Communications, Community Leadership, Election, Finance, Governmental, Lake, Personnel, and Social. It would be impossible for even our able staff to accomplish all they do without the gift of time and input from our membership volunteers.

The board of directors is another group of volunteers – seven of your neighbors elected by you – who establish the goals and set the direction of the association. Each director serves as chair of one or two of our committees and also serves on two or three others. The breadth of experience of this group is a tremendous asset for Scottsdale Ranch, and we should be thankful for their willingness to contribute their time.

Scottsdale Ranch is also fortunate to have several organizations who also are critical to our quality of life and the stability of our Association. Our attorney, our landscape contractor SDL, and our insurance broker all make crucial contributions to our success and to avert problems.

Last but not least, YOU – our membership – are the largest and most important part of Scottsdale Ranch. Maybe you serve on one or more of our committees. Maybe you attend some of our many social events. Maybe you are making significant upgrades to the visible parts of your home. Even if your only direct contribution is the timely payment of our very reasonable annual assessments, you and your quality of life are the reason for Scottsdale Ranch.

If you’re not already involved more directly, I encourage you to contact any of our staff at the SRCA office and ask about how else you can chip in. But regardless, know that you are the inspiration that drives all these people to band together, and make Scottsdale Ranch the best place to live!
