North East England On England’s North Sea Coast, good surf doesn’t happen everyday, but when it does, it’s some of the best the UK has to Offer. Aside from the historic coastline (Capt. Cook learnt how to sail here, before going off and discovering surfing). It is also one of the coldest surf zones this side of the Arctic. Without the precious warmth from the Gulf Stream enjoyed by the West & North Coasts, winter water temps can drop to a numbing 4c. “Surfing is a huge passion for me” says Scott and whenever the opportunity arises, that’s where he’ll point his lens. “I have the same approach to all my photography and surf is no exception. The only thing i try to avoid, as i live around here, is being too explicit with locations”. As some of the breaks have started to suffer with over exposure in the surf media, Scott is adamant to distance himself from this approach. “I strive to exclude any identifiable landmarks and instead concentrate on the evocative line-ups that convey the beauty, drama & scale”. by Alex Dick-Read, editor of The Surfer’s Path

People always thought you were a windsurfer, not a surfer

I could not help concluding that this man felt the most supreme pleasure while he was being driven on so fast and so smoothly by the sea
