Programs in a Box
Troops and girls can check out or buy Programs in a Box to help them work on new and current badges or have some Girl Scout fun.
Various prices: $10 to $60 per girl. Remember meeting outlines can also be found on the VTK (Volunteer Toolkit) for free. Each box will:
♥ Outline the what, why, and how to implement the program.
♥ Offer preplanned virtual “troop meeting(s)” either using the items in the box or those you purchase on your own. These can be translated to in-person meetings.
♥ A supply list including a shopping list for common household supplies like scissors, glue, pencils, and markers.
♥ Depending on box chosen it will also include supplies
Four types of boxes to choose from:
1. Download Box offers meeting plans and shopping list
2. Purchase Box offers most items needed to complete the topic (typically a badge). Common household supplies such as scissors, glue, markers, crayons, pencils and paper would be supplied on your own. Note: If the topic is a badge; it may include instructions for kids to complete portions of badges, that cannot be done virtually, with their family (such as hosting a star party).
3. Borrow Box offers a shopping list for all non-renewable resources (including common household supplies) and includes the opportunity to borrow hard to get or expensive items such as a telescope or Goldiblox.
4. Blended Box An economical option to the “Purchase Box” – it will include some harder to find program supplies or find in smaller quantities while common craft and household supplies would be purchased by the girl or troop.
