At the training point, your instructor helps you to put on the scuba diving set. You will take your first underwater breath here and you might not find it easy in the beginning but after a couple of attempts, you will find it super easy and comfortable. During the training session, you will learn how to release underwater ear pressure, how to clear water from a mask while diving, and how to release water from the mouth in case the regulator is accidentally removed from the mouth underwater. Prior dive training is mandatory for Scuba diving in Havelock to ensure for a safe and smooth dive experience.

It is recommended to make your scuba dive booking in advance. It will be helpful to get your preferred time slots for diving on a specific dive date. On the date of diving, one of our instructors will assist you to complete your required paperwork and provide a short briefing on underwater hand signals, how the scuba gear works and expected underwater sightseeing during your dive. Afterward, you have to put on a wetsuit for the practical training session at the chest level deep water.

Scuba Diving for Beginners or Non-swimmers

The Andaman Islands are famous to try some popular watersports but unlike other watersports, scuba diving was not possible for everyone. In the year 2005-2006, nonswimmers were not eligible to do scuba diving. We have designed try scuba diving program for beginners and non-swimmers. The program of scuba diving in Andaman for non-swimmers will accommodate those who can’t swim but also maintain proper quality and safety while diving.

Prerequisites for scuba diving

You must be mentally and physically fit to undertake scuba dive. The age limit for scuba diving is above 8 years and below 51 years. swimming is not a prerequisite for a one-time scuba diving experience.

Scuba diving is an extremely safe underwater adventure watersport provided all guidelines and internationally recognized safety standards are followed. We strictly adhere to all the safety standards of scuba schools international (SSI) as well as the safety norms of local administration.

During diving, your instructor will hold you from behind and swim for you. He will maintain your dive depth and direction as per your comfort level. The instructor will point at the colorful fish life and coral reefs from time to time so that you don’t miss it during your dive. You can hold your instructor’s hand if you feel scared at the beginning of the dive. You have to be calm and follow all given instructions carefully for an uninterrupted amazing experience. We don’t recommend tourists to swim for their very first-time dive even if they know about swimming. Underwater swimming will exhaust you very soon and you will feel uncomfortable. People suffering from the below-mentioned health conditions or taking medications on daily basis are strictly not recommended for scuba diving.

Rain doesn’t directly affect scuba diving and everything remains unchanged underwater during the rainy season. However, as per past years’ experiences, October to May is considered the best time for scuba diving in andaman.

We have trained and professional instructors who have vast knowledge and experience for more than 5 years, especially for this nonswimmer program. Most of our dive crew are local Andamanese people.
