How we conduct shore dives?

Shore diving is just another form of scuba diving. This type of scuba diving is conducted from the shore ( beach ), where the dive site topography suits for the beginners as well as nonswimmers. We start with a short briefing on how to complete paperwork, how to put on the wet suit, how does scuba equipment work and what are the expected things they can see while scuba diving in Andaman.

Our instructor keeps you at chest-deep water next to the beach and prepares you for your shore dive. This is the place where you are probably going to take your first breathe underwater through your mouth. It makes you feel a bit awkward in the beginning since we all are habitual to breathe through the nose by born. It takes a while to become comfortable with breathing as well as the scuba diving equipment.

Your instructor teaches you a few hand signals so that you can communicate underwater. You need to practice a few skills too so that you can perform some basic requirements such as removing water from your mask, equalize your eardrums, and clearing water from the regulator underwater.

Once you are enough confident and comfortable, Your instructor takes you for a scuba dive, where he swims, maintains depth directions and buoyancy for you. What can be experienced during shore diving?

The Andaman sea presents you enchanting life coral reefs and magnificent colorful school of fish. You can commonly see orange-white colored clownfish with sea anemones, longfin bannerfish, a small school of rabbitfish, lobster, red and black gobi fish, pufferfish, yellow boxfish, five-line yellow snappers, and a bunch of niddle fish at the surface. Staghorn corals, red open brain corals, mushroom corals, and sea fan corals can generally be seen during a shore dive.

Who can participate inshore diving?

This adventure activity is specially designed for those wanting just a one-time underwater experience. This program is also well suited for scuba diving for non swimmers in Andaman. Kids above 8 years old can participate and one should be physically and 2/4


mentally fit to participate in scuba diving.

Best places for shore diving

Nemo Reef in Havelock Island, North Bay Reef in Port Blair, and Jetty Channel Marker of Neil Island are the best shore dive site for scuba in Andaman.

1.North Bay ( Port Blair )

You can reach North bay Island within 30 minutes by a speed boat from the Port Blair water sports complex. The reef is suitable for shore diving and contains a lot of colorful small fish, soft corals such as sea fans, sea anemones, and mushroom coral. The diving site offers perfect underwater diving conditions for beginners. Along with Scuba diving, you can also try parasailing, sea-walk, and secret ride at North Bay Island.

2.Jetty Channel Marker ( Neil )

A huge stone accidentally fallen into the water near Neil ferry station is the home of a variety of marine life. The stone structure is stuck 11 meters deep into the sea surface and 7 meters is visible to divers. The site is functional for shore as well as boat dives for beginners. The site offers you a variety of underwater animals such as angelfish, stingrays in the sand. It depends on your luck or clarity of weather to witness Parrotfish, small puffers, triggerfish, juvenile batfish, and scorpionfish.

3. Nemo Reef ( Havelock )

The central point of attraction is wild coral reefs while scuba diving at Havelock Island. Almost all the dive centers come here with their non-swimmer clients as well as beginners to train them for their first-time scuba experience. Scuba Diving in Andaman Cost starts at 2999 INR. In Port Blair, They charge 3500 INR at North Bay Island for a single shore dive, where 4000 INR is charged at Neil Island for the same dive. We at Havelock charge 2999 INR for shore dive at Nemo reef.

Inclusion of shore dive

Dive time of at least 30 minutes, as well as training time of 30 minutes, are included.
