Globally, in 2016, 81,0% of students aged 11–17 years were insufficiently physically active, of which 77,6% of boys and 84,7% of girls
SCOUT (Sport Clubs Opening Up To all girls’ participation) focuses on institutionalized sports practices, or otherwise known as organised sports, which take place via federations and sports clubs. The focus on organised sport was chosen because clubs tend to be considered as the prime setting for sport, especially for children and adolescents. The evidence to date indicates that participation in institutionalized sports can play an important part in the development of a child, or adolescent, in dif- ferent aspects: social, motorical, emotional, behavioural and psychological. Sports practice is located at the epicentre of extracurricular activities that children do today and that occupies them more time outside of family environments (excluding school)
Design a pilot recruitment and intervention programme for organised sports, for young girls at risk of social exclusion or vulnerability, Raise awareness and challenge social and especially within minority groups, in cooperation with schools, municipal sport and social services, NGOs, community associations, and other sports clubs
cultural norms that are a barrier to the presen- ce and participation of young girls in organised sports, with activities dedicated to the families of young girls
New recruitment and intervention program-More than 200 adults with parental responsime, promoting PYD through organised sports among young girls at risk of social exclusion, tested in sports clubs of different sizes and performance in 3 different European countries
Implement the pilot recruitment and intervention program, including an intensive training programme on social inclusion and positive youth development for coaches and managers, peer to peer exchanges among athletes, coaches and managers
More than 160 young girls participating in the new programme, with more than 30 girls identified in situation of vulnerability in organised sport activities, with a positive outcome in their development
More than 78 managers and coaches trained by the new programme, with new skills and knowledge developed to become active stakeholders in the process of social inclusion of the girls.

Provide policy recommendations and evaluate the impact of the intervention, sharing results and communicating to motivate administra- tions at local and EU level to support sport clubs that dedicate efforts to develop inclusion programs. Strengthened connections between private sport clubs and municipal social and sport ser- vices, schools, NGOs and community organi- sations, strengthening the role of clubs as so- cial agents of inclusion while increasing their social impact in the local communities.
The first international exchange of the SCOUT project took place on 23, 24 and 25 June in Istres (France) at the partner company Istres Provence Volley The international exchange involved over 200 people from Spain, Italy and the Czech Republic. The event was made up of two main moments, a training moment dedicated to the coaches of the partner companies of the SCOUT project, led by the University of Vic, and a international tournament dedicated to three different cate- gories of women’s volleyball.

Friday 23 June:
until 19.00 - arrival of all delegations at the hotel from 19.00 to 20.30 – training coaches by the University of Vic on issues of inclusion and dissemination of the SCOUT project
Saturday 24 June:
from 9 to 20 – Under 10, Under 14 and Under 17 women’s tournaments in three gyms in Istres
Sunday 25 June:
from 9 to 12 – friendly beach volleyball tournaments from 14.00 – return of the delegations to their countries of residence

The first international SCOUT tournament, the European Erasmus+Sport project co-financed by the European Union, which involved over 200 girls from Italy, France, Spain and the Czech Republic, ended on Sunday Over 200 people, including athletes and accompanying persons, met on Friday 23rd, Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th June in Istres, near Marseille. The three days began with a walk in the historic center of Marseille to discover this beautiful city. The day ended with a training moment dedicated to the coaches in which all the staff involved were able to meet with Gil Plà of the University of Vic (Spain) on the issues of inclusion and the difficulties encountered in the clubs. On Saturday, the three tournaments of the Under 17, Under 14 and Under 10 women’s categories took place on three competition fields. The tournaments, which lasted all day, were played in a com- pletely friendly spirit with the main objective of having a sporting experience of international exchange. For the Under 17 Women’s tournament, 8 teams participated: An- derlini, Istres, AE Vallbona, Nimes-Tarascon, Marseille, Ostrava, Salon de Provence and Venelles. For the Under 14 Women’s tournament, 6 teams participated: Istres, AE Vallbona, Anderlini, Martigues and CD. For the Under 10 Women’s tournament, the three companies of the SCOUT project brought two teams each, for a total of 6 formations ready to play. On Sunday, some friendly beach volleyball matches took place on the beach, before the final goodbyes. The next international appointment of the SCOUT project is set for Easter 2024, when in Modena on the occasion of the Anderlini Spring Cup and the Paolo Bussinello International Trophy.
