PROPOSITIONS S & N FACILITIES UPDATE – January 2010 Welcome to Spring 2010! To keep our community updated on campus construction, below you’ll find a status report on all current projects. In February 2010, we will present our annual Facility Master Plan with any updates. Stay tuned for more details. Mesa College has a new Campus Project Manager – Diane Malone. She has hit the campus running and is doing a fine job learning about our projects. She will be a regular attendee at the campus’ President’s Cabinet meetings. East Campus Improvement Project The parking garage and police station are substantially complete and open for business.
Rosa Parks Memorial Project Construction commenced (under the tent near the east campus entrance) in December and will be completed for the official opening ceremony scheduled on February 25th. At that time, MTS will have two bus stops on the east side of campus – one in front of Allied Health and the other at Rosa Parks Memorial site.
Telecommunications Infrastructure Installation of I.T. conduits underway in the fire lane on the north side of K-200/L-200 and on the west side of L-100/200/500. The work will be completed by the end of this month.
Student Services
Stadium Mondo Track and Field Project Staff and services from I-400 have been relocated to Modular Village in east Lot #1 in preparation for the demolition of I-400 scheduled for March.
I-400 has been closed. The ATM has been relocated to the first floor of the LRC. A temporary chiller has been installed to provide power and heat to I-300 until the new chiller plant is constructed. One elevator in I-300 is operational with the 2nd ready by early February.
The project is now substantially complete. Track striping will be completed this week, weather permitting. Caulking at track edge will be installed. This facility is a great new addition for the track and field teams. GO OLYMPIANS!

Modular Village – Student Services Project The project is substantially complete. Pending items include a shade/rain shelter, tables and benches. A dedicated pedestrian path from Modular Village to I-300 elevators has been installed for safety.
Parking Lot #1 Road Due to concerns about pedestrian safety, the road that splits the parking lot has been re-routed to move vehicular traffic away from the Modular Village.
Parking Lots #2 and #3 Open for student parking. Combined with Lots #1, #4 and the parking structure, we now have over 3,400 student parking spaces.
Mesa College Design Center
Math and Science Building
Due to flooding, several classes from H-200 have been re-located to Muir ‘Z’ Building for the Spring Semester. Renovation of the Muir Design Center is scheduled to start in May 2010.
Design Development plans will be complete on 2/19/10. Demolition of F-100/200 & J-100 scheduled for 12/2010. The new building construction is projected to start in spring 2011.
Tutoring Center Tutoring Center has been relocated to I-207.
Design/Programming Phase Three projects scheduled to start in September 2010: 1. Social and Behavioral Sciences 2. Fitness Center 3. Cafeteria, Bookstore and Student Union Building
