19+ Advanced Learner Loan.

DID YOU KNOW YOU COULD QUALIFY FOR THIS LOAN IF YOU ARE AGE 19 AND OVER?

What is the 19+ Advanced Learner Loan?

An Advanced Learner Loan is a government loan that students may be able to take advantage of to help assist them with the cost of studying an eligible course at a college in England. An Advanced Learner Loan is available to students aged 19 and over who are wanting to study an eligible Level 3, 4, 5 or 6 course.

How do I qualify for this loan?

You must have lived in the UK for more than three years and have a ‘settled status’. Students will not have to pay all the tuition fees upfront. The minimum loan amount is £300 and you apply for this online.

How does paying back the loan work?

You only pay back your loan when you finish your course and earn more than £25,000 a year. If you successfully complete an Access to Higher Education course and go to university and complete your degree, then you will not pay back any balance outstanding on your loan.

Does the loan affect my credit score?

This loan won’t affect your credit score, and your credit rating will not be considered.

Access to Higher Education Courses.

Our Access to Higher Education courses are one year long and designed as a stepping stone to a Degree Level course (either with us or at university).

Our Access courses have outstanding success rates and are highly respected by universities, both locally and nationally. They enable you to progress to a degree course, something many adults feel they’ve left too late. It’s never too late! If you’re looking to change careers, but you need a degree to reach your dream role, an Access course helps you get back into education and achieve your goals.

Formal qualifications or experience are not required to study an Access course with us, however many university degree courses will require GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above, in addition to the Access Diploma. You can gain these qualifications with us at East Sussex College (for free!) prior to enrolling on an Access course.

YOU CAN ALSO STUDY SOME ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION COURSES ONLINE! SEE PAGE 19
