GET AN ENERGY BOOST WITH B12

So does vitamin B12 give you energy? The big-picture answer is, yes. While B12 doesn’t directly provide energy, it does give the body the tools it needs to convert food molecules into energy. Getting the recommended daily amount of B12 can, therefore, help ensure that the body is able to make the energy required to do everything you need it to do. Additionally, getting the recommended daily amount can help prevent some of the symptoms associated with a B12 deficiency, like fatigue or insomnia.4

B12 doesn’t provide energy like coffee does because B12 does not contain caffeine. The similarity between the two is that they both work with the nervous system. They both produce energy and decrease fatigue, but in very different ways.5 Vitamin B12 helps the body convert the food you consume into glucose, which gives you energy.6

Older adults are more likely to be deficient in B12, because your body’s ability to absorb vitamin B12 is reduced. A supplement is a great way to make sure you have enough B12 as well as other B vitamins.
