Project Types: Cultural, Architectural and Interior Design, New Construction, BIM (Revit) Project Documentation and Design Project Details: The doors of the new History Colorado Center opened in April 2012 to tell the stories of colorful Coloradans with fun, family-friendly activities inside a beautiful new building in Denver’s Golden Triangle Museum District. The new space gave the state’s historical society the opportunity to start from scratch — to create new ways to experience Colorado’s history. Designed to ignite imaginations of all ages about Colorado history, this new museum and hub for civic engagement creates a rich experience for visitors through exhibits and programs that blend technology, media, environments and artifacts. The building has three elevations; the fourth side abuts the ING Building. The exterior is substantially covered in panels of Indiana limestone, with expressed mortar joints adding visual interest to the walls. The limestone links the museum to the older monuments of the Civic Center, as does the rest of the earth-toned palette.

Project Types: Residential, Architectural and Interior Design, New Construction Project Details: Sharing a city block with the Woolworth Building, this hotel is strategically located one block from the World Trade Center redevelopment site. The Four Seasons Downtown combines a 175-key five-star hotel with 143 top-end condominium apartments in a slender 80-story tower. This hotel will become an important landmark among the constellation of towers in Lower Manhattan. The hotel entrance on Barclay Street leads visitors into four floors of lobbies, lounges, restaurants, ballrooms, meeting facilities, and a spa and fitness center. The public rooms of the hotel face a through-block garden framed by a lower annex building that conceals building services and access to below-grade parking. A separate entrance and lobby on Park Place serves the residences. Amenities for the apartments are located on the twenty-ninth floor; the function rooms and fitness center open to exterior loggias. The limestone and cast stone shaft of the tower rises to a dramatic skyline profile of fullfloor penthouses and setback terraces.

Project Types: Government, Architectural and Interior Design, new Construction, BIM (Revit) Project Documentation and Design Project Details: The César E. Chávez Memorial Building is a ten-story, 180,000 square foot facility that serves as a gateway building into Denver’s Civic and Justice Center and the Golden Triangle Neighborhood. The building was originally constructed in 1984 and designed by the architectural firm of Murata Outland Associates, Inc. In 2009, the 180,000 square feet 10-story César E. Chávez Memorial Building underwent a massive building modernization. The U.S. General Services awarded the contract to design-build partner GE Johnson Construction and architect on record, Tryba Architects. The efforts resulted in transforming the once overlooked federal building into a state-of-theart,high-performing green building. Improvements to the building include a new state-of-the-art building exterior consisting of an aluminum and glass curtain wall system that will assist in reducing the building’s energy consumption by 30% and enhance the natural light and view for building tenants. The building attained Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Silver certification.

The primary design strategy maximizes the floor plan, allowing for multiple uses of the space and privacy in each room. The program includes a new living room, media/guest room, office space, master bathroom, and a master bedroom suite with walk-in closet. The contemporary design style utilizes every opportunity to highlight art/sculpture, creates innovative hidden storage opportunities, and provides a space suitable for family events and socializing. The material palette establishes a formal consistency throughout the apartment - providing the right backdrop for rich sculptures and artwork. The dynamic, yet serene space is the perfect setting for both family engagements and social functions

Project Types: Residential, Architectural and Interior Design, New Construction and Addition Project Details: This Frank Lloyd Wright inspired 1950s home is situated in 2-acres of wooded vegetation on the side of a valley. The strategy was to design and build a 2,000 square-foot addition that leveraged solar orientation, had a minimal impact to the existing natural environment, and seamlessly connected the addition into the existing plan of the original home. The location utilizes the light from the rising sun in the East casting light into the new guest bedroom in the morning and captures the setting sun in the West - illuminating the connection hallway to the original home. The addition perfectly blends into the existing style and form of the original home, while providing a modern means of construction, mechanical systems, and materials. The program accommodates a new office with a glass corner and continuous windows on the East and South facades. The addition allows the couple to take advantage of the view into the woods and the natural sunlight from all sides. The program includes a 3-car garage, guest bedroom, laundry room, and connection hallway with exposed natural wood beams.

Project Types: Commercial, Architectural and Interior Design, New Construction and Addition Project Details: The gallery owner desired to renovate an existing 1970s, 2-story commercial building located in the heart of the Art/Fashion district of Denver, Colorado. The gallery required space to house 80 pieces of art, sculpture, and photography, while providing flexibility for events and showings. The design strategy involved creating a signage box on the street to draw the foot traffic into a new entry vestibule leading to the main gallery space located on the 2nd floor. The open floor plan allows visitors to move around the entry vestibule and throughout the different sections of the gallery. Each area utilizes devices of lighting, hanging attachments, moveable walls, and sliding doors, creating a dynamic space to display over 80 pieces of art, sculpture, and photographs.

Project Types: Residential, Hotel, Retail, Master Plan, and Architectural Design Project Details: Located six miles from Manhattan in the New Jersey Meadowlands, this mixed-use community in a 785-acre brownfield site includes protected wetlands to be restored and enhanced, and landfill to be capped according to regulations specified by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. The total area will yield 36 acres of golf, along with three areas of development to be nestled into the surrounding wetlands. The primary neighborhood, the Village, at approximately 105 acres, will comprise 1900 residential units, 40,000 square feet of retail, 175,000 square feet of office space, a four-acre village green, a 350-room golf resort hotel, a conference center and spa, and two golf clubhouses, as well as a public community center. A central Main Street unifies the Village as it leads from a small market square past five-story buildings with retail and office space below and loft apartments above to a large village green, and then connects to the southeast with the neighboring community of North Arlington. The main residential blocks are organized around the green with four- to sevenstory garden apartment buildings facing the green on one side and two- to three-story townhouses facing the golf course on the other.

Project Types: Residential, Hotel, Retail, Master Plan, and Architectural Design Project Details: Located on a 2,400-acre site in Trelawney, 30 minutes to the east of Montego Bay and 45 minutes to the west of Ochos Rios, the Harmony Cove Resort will feature a fine-grained mix of resort uses, including singlefamily houses, hotels, shops, golf, spas, gaming venues, conference facilities, a water-park, music venues, and recording studios. The town center, with intimate streets and gracious stone plazas composed around a yacht harbor, carries forward the spirit of colonial seaside villages that have evolved into vacation destinations. The streets of the town center will be lined with shops and harbor-side cafes and restaurants; there will also be a restaurant on an island in the harbor. The marina, which will house yachts up to 300 feet in length, is fed by canals lined with houses and features two connections to the Caribbean Sea. In the hills above the town center, a network of roads and pedestrian paths supports residential neighborhoods and a boutique hotel. The project respects the natural environment with dense pockets of development that maximize the conservation of much of the existing natural Jamaican landscape.
