2023 Grants Empowering Nonprofits to Make a Difference

SDCF’s Board of Directors awards grants throughout the year to nonprofits that meet vital and diverse needs across the state. SDCF offers an array of grants to help local nonprofits realize dreams and continue investing in their communities. In reviewing hundreds of inquiries and applications each year, SDCF’s Grant Program has a unique pulse on what’s happening across the state, sees where communities are energized and who are key players.

The South Dakota Fund is SDCF’s flagship grant program and awards program or project related funding in support of culture, economic development, education, financial literacy, health and human services. SDCF accepts applications on a rolling basis throughout the year. The Beyond Idea Grant (BIG) is administered by SDCF, in partnership with the Bush Foundation. The BIG program aims to develop, test and spread ideas that make the region better for everyone and inspire, equip and connect leaders to more effectively lead equitable change. Bush Prize: South Dakota, in partnership with the Bush Foundation, is an award that celebrates organizations highly valued within their communities with track records of successful problem solving.
