Super Soul Swap Meet
By Darrel Wheeler | Contributing Writer
On the second Saturday of this month, October 9, the traveling Soul Swap Meet set up shop at MLK Park.
A variety of vendors and a host of customers played “Let’s Make a Deal” and were able to eat good smelling food. They also were able to listen to the local DJ work his magic, with the audience being treated to live entertainment.
The Soul Swap Meet had a low-key family get together and a ‘Dave & Buster’s meets the garment district and cook-off ’ kind of a vibe.
“I love the Soul Swap Meet!” said Big Mack of Mack’s Soul Food. “I’ve been involved for about a year now. I think it’s a wonderful opportunity for consumers who are looking for unique items and some good food. It gives vendors a chance to display their goods and in my case, the perfect place to introduce our awesome BBQ.” “You can’t beat the cool atmosphere and people supporting each other out here today; you gotta love it,” Big Mack said.
