Sixth Form Courses
1. One/Two Year AS/A2 Levels; These require a general GCSE results profile of BBBBCCC or better. Most subjects stipulate their own GCSE grade requirements. To study A Levels you must meet both the general and specific GCSE criteria. 2. BTEC Level 3 These require a minimum of 5 grade Cs, preferably including both a grade C in English and Maths. 3. One/Two Year Certificate in Business & Administration These do not require high GCSE grades. For A Level we use predicted GCSE grades to judge the suitability of your proposed courses as well as QCA score. The National Certificate (Level 2) is equivalent in breadth and depth to 4 (A*-C) GCSEs. The Certificate in Business & Administration is designed for those who aim to find a career in office work. All components lead to nationally recognised vocational qualifications. In addition if you have not achieved C in English and/or Maths they are available as taught resits.

Sixth Form voices
As a student entering the Sixth Form from another school, I found both staff and students alike very welcoming, and it was very easy to get along with everyone – which has made my stay here very enjoyable. Whilst here I have made many close friends, the majority of whom I hope to stay in contact with for a very long time following my departure from LPGS. The teachers are very understanding with any difficulties you might have, and will try their best to help you understand and do well on the courses (especially if you do Psychology, History, or English). I’m glad I came to LPGS, as it has been an experience I will never forget.
Having been at LPGS since Year 7, I always knew I wanted to stay for the Sixth Form. This was largely because I knew the teachers were engaging and supportive, enabling hard-working students to achieve highly. There are so many extracurricular opportunities that allow us to really fulfil our potential in more than just the exam hall. I was appointed Head Girl and also really enjoyed my enrichment option, where I taught maths to children from my old primary school. The dynamic Sixth Form provides committed students a great learning environment and I am very glad that I chose to study at LPGS Sixth Form.

Having been at Langley since Year 7, I have always felt welcome. Langley has given me so many exciting and interesting opportunities, especially in the field of dance and ICT. In Year 12 I was a team leader for ICT Team, furthermore in Year 13 I then had the privilege of becoming the ViceCaptain of the school Prefect Team. I spend the majority of my time mentoring the younger years and also running my own after school clubs. Langley has been my home for seven years now, and I will embark upon my future knowing that Langley has taught me everything that I need to know to succeed and be a dedicated, unique and determined individual.
LPGS Sixth Form provides a focussed and friendly environment where students have the best opportunities to succeed. LPGS has opened many doors outside of school that I never thought would be possible and which I can use to further my career in dance. The teachers are very approachable and take a real interest in all my work. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to achieve higher than their expectations. Rhyss Rhoden

Since joining LPGS, I have met some more amazing people and formed new friendships. The teachers have taken the time to get to know you and so help you to find your strengths and to work through any areas that need developing. Also, being a Sixth Form student at Langley is extremely rewarding, as you can enjoy a range of great opportunities during Enrichment. For example, I was able to volunteer at my local primary school for my Enrichment every Wednesday afternoon. I also learnt so many skills that I can transfer to Sixth Form and utilise later in life. Another worthwhile opportunity that exists while at Langley is the chance to apply to become a school Prefect. Overall my time at Langley has been unforgettable and I hope you will have the same amazing time here if you decide to join the Sixth Form. Katie Ripley
LPGS has been extraordinarily supportive throughout Year 12 and Year 13. The teachers were available when help was needed and had help sessions regularly running. This was extremely useful towards the exams. The amount of trust they have placed in me has also been a good experience and I am proud to have been given the position of Head Boy. Adam Dack
Having been at Langley since Year 7, I was surprised to see how much being in the Sixth Form contrasts to the Lower School. It is a lot more rigorous and demanding but is also rewarding when your hard work pays off. My A2 subjects are Biology, Physics, Maths and Further Maths and at University I hope to pursue a course in Physical Sciences. In addition to my studies I contribute to school life through playing the saxophone in music clubs, including Tour Band. As a Prefect Team Leader for Charity, I have to organise school wide events to raise money in interesting ways. I have really enjoyed being at Langley for the past seven years and I hope many others can experience this too. Isabelle Picard
I am an external student who started at LPGS at the start of Year 12. Before I started here I was well aware of the reputation that LPGS had, so I knew beforehand that I was attending a really good school. LPGS has provided me with a lot of opportunities to further my educational career and enhance my personality. An example of an opportunity that I have been granted here would be holding the post of Vice-Captain where I am able to be the voice of the students and help support the school in both academic and creative ways. One thing that I really love about LPGS is the friendly atmosphere, and the work ethic of the school. The lessons are planned and organised well, and the teachers teach you according to your academic speed. Nana Umoh
