January 2012: Deckvest breaks two Round the World Records
Multi-PXR control for the Farr 25 OD For best acceleration and manoeuverability, the new Farr 25 requires all frequentlyadjusted lines to be located within easy reach of the crew. Farr have achieved this by using a total of eleven PXR cam cleats to control everything from Vang to Backstayallowing exceptionally fast reactions in all conditions.
G-Class trimaran Banque Populaire’s January 6th record non-stop circumnavigation of 45 days, 15 hours is likely to stand for many years. An amazing tribute to the seven year project under the direction of her charismatic skipper Loick Peyron, and which Spinlock have actively assisted. Working with the BP team, we helped develop low and high load rope holding systems, and break new ground with control solutions, notably for the massive wing mast. A few days later, in her 38’ Jeanneau ketch Guppy, 16 year old Laura Dekker sailed back into harbour on the Caribbean island
of St Maarten, just under 12 months after her departure. So making her the youngest sailor to complete a solo circumnavigation and cutting six months off the unofficial record. Two very different times yet the same courage and ambition - and the same lifejacket. Both Laura Dekker and the 13 crew of Banque Populaire wore Spinlock Deckvest Lifejacket Harnesses for their epic journeys.

Available as a Spinlock Deckware accessory, Pylon™ is designed to be fitted easily to any make of 170N or 275N Lifejacket for enhanced visibility in an emergency.

Passport Double
Top Control
Passport Yachts have been quietly designing and building offshore sailing boats since 1979, and have earned a cult reputation for dependably quick ocean going passage making, most recently from designers Bill Dixon and Robert Perry.
The original Topper dinghy is beautifully simple to rig and to sail and still sees some of the largest racing starts across the world.
For the 1st time in the history of both publications, seperate panels of independent judges for both SAIL and Cruising World magazines have awarded the Passport 545 ‘Boat of the Year’, citing it the ‘best full size cruising yacht being made today’.
With its very limited of choice adjustable controls, Topper crews are always hungry for more power. Current class leaders now favour big mast-bend: powering-on the vang and playing mainsail shape under load with a Spinlock PXR0206/T easy-release cam cleat.
The new 545 carries the full Spinlock Blue Water deck package. Page 2 of 2
