LETTER FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL Dear Friends, What an incredible year Seacrest has had. The energy on opening day 2015 was palpable and so many institutional achievements were to follow the excitement of that first day. The story of the growth of Seacrest over the past year in so many ways aligns with the best of what I took from my two favorite writers in the management field; Steven Covey and Jim Collins, and what they said about energy and momentum. The life of a school is like a flywheel; momentum is everything, and everything that changes momentum dictates the future. Mission-directed efforts add momentum to the wheel, little by little, until the wheel is humming along and life is good. Seacrest has been gaining momentum for some time, and during 2015-16, we began to see the results of those efforts in terms of energy, excitement and commitment. D. John Watson, Ph.D. Head of School
• 90.3% of our families returned to Seacrest, in line with the best independent schools across the country, and we saw 7% growth in enrollment across the board • Seacrest Fund participation: • Parent participation increased 13.3% • New parent participation increased 27.9% • Grandparent participation increased 233.33% • Major gift participation of $1,000 or more increased 44% • Volunteer participation significantly up, especially among new families • New and enthusiastic leadership emerging on the Board of Trustees, the Advisory Board, the Parent Association and the Parent Ambassadors program
Both Jim Collins and Steven Covey cite two things critical to making a company successful: commitment and alignment. Commitment to Seacrest and alignment with the mission push the flywheel a little bit faster every single day. Our community is the fuel that drives Seacrest. You embrace our mission; attend on-campus events; make your school a philanthropic priority each year by giving to the Annual Fund or sponsoring the auction; volunteer your time in the classroom and with S.P.A.; walk with the Running Rays; serve on Board committees; mentor the robotics teams; and coach a sport or an academic competition. The strength of our community is a powerful force, and your involvement is appreciated beyond measure. I offer a heartfelt thank you for all that you do for our school. The ride is about to get more exciting! 2015-2016 ANNUAL GIVING REPORT

A MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Highlights of this success include meeting or exceeding goals on five key metrics: • Total net income • Tuition income • Expense levels • Dollars raised through The Seacrest Fund • Percent participation in all Seacrest philanthropic efforts
Trish Erickson and Carol Hastings, Co-Chairs of the Seacrest Country Day School Board of Trustees
In addition, we fulfilled an important organizational objective by facilitating two smooth, planned leadership transitions. During the second half of the school year, Erin Duffy’s appointment as Associate Head of School for 2016-2017 and, ultimately, Head of School upon Dr. John Watson’s retirement in June 2017, was announced. The school celebrated Erin’s well-deserved appointment as a leader who embodies Seacrest’s mission and vision. Additionally, our duties as Co-Chairs of the Board of Trustees came to a close, and long-time board members Susan Murray and Charley Zimmer stepped up to assume the Co-Chair positions. Susan and Charley are eminently qualified to lead. Together, they represent decades of independent school knowledge and experience and a deep, abiding love for our school. These are indeed exciting times for Seacrest. We look to the future with pride in the exemplary work accomplished by the board, administration, staff and faculty and in all that they do to serve Seacrest families, and most importantly, its students. The strength of our commitment to Seacrest is only surpassed by our love for all it represents. We thank you for your trust and your ongoing commitment to this fine school.

SEACREST FUND SHATTERS RECORDS Giving to the Seacrest Fund is the most important gift you can make to support the School. Like all independent schools, an annual fund serves to provide reliable and yearly income to the school’s operating budget. The Seacrest Fund saw an unprecedented level of participation by our parents, many of whom gave at the Leadership level of more than $1,000 and earned entrance into the Leadership Circle Giving Society.
