Scuba diving at Turtle Beach

1. Turtle Beach Besides scuba diving, snorkelling can be conveniently done at this site and it is right next to Elephant beach. The reef starts at 2 meters and the deepest point of the reef is 23 meters. The best part of the reef is, it is laying alongside the turtle beach and you can spend your surface interval time chilling around the pristine white sand beach.

The growing Stag horn corals rock the reef with the school of sergeant major fish. You can spot several giant clamps as well as sea anemones with clownfish during your dive. School of small Barracudas and five-line yellow snappers are everywhere. You can find pufferfish and orange box fish hiding in the reef. If you are lucky enough, you can see one or more Turtles and Manta Ray swimming around.

Brown sea fan corals of Red Piller

2. Red Piller There is a red-colored navigation marker Piller just opposite the Havelock ferry station.

This reef is just underneath the marker Piller with amazing colourful soft corals. You might face a bit of strong current during your dive, just because the reef is right in the main channel but there are plenty of places in the reef to hide yourself avoiding current. you can see a large school of yellow-back fusiliers as well as countless transparent glassfish and sometimes you might feel that you are in the middle of a fish tornado. There are orange and brown coloured fan corals, yellow tree corals, sea anemones with clownfish, and many more. You will find some beautiful lion fish and sweetlip fish at the edges of the reef along with giant barrel sponges while scuba diving at Havelock Island.

Tribe Gate

3. Tribe Gate Only two and a half kilo meters away from Havelock and can be reached by dive boat easily at any time of the day. Tribe gate is well suited for beginners whether they go for a one-time experience or they go for an open water dive. The reef is home to countless fish, soft corals, marine animals, and some rarely sighted spices too.

The depth varies between 4 meters to 13 meters and it’s an oval-shaped reef. There is a 100 % guarantee to see a school of two-spotted fusiliers, giant clamps, four-lined orange snappers, hunting of Trevallies, and a garden alike sea anemones with clownfish. You will see a full 45 minutes movie underwater, which makes your blood rush through your veins.

Aquarium

4. Aquarium The reef is located at the western corner of Havelock Island and can only be accessible by the dive boat. The aquarium is famous for the crystal clear visibility and the topography of coral reef structure, which gives the dive site an aquarium alike look. Huge boulder corals, Stag horn corals, Plate corals, and many more are there.

You can easily see peacock grouper, black-spotted grouper, yellowfin grouper, and big eye snappers. Moris idols and long fin Banner fish are very common to spot. Giant marble rays and stingrays can be seen on the sandy patch right next to the reef. The top of the reef is 2 meters and the deepest point is around 15 meters. Meeting a sea turtle is very often at this site while scuba diving.

The Wall

5. The Wall The unbelievable topography and unmatched fish life make this dive site a must-dive location for the best scuba diving in Havelock. The wall, The name says something.

The reef starts at 10.5 meters and one side of the reef goes down to 19 meters, where another side goes down straight to 56 meters like a multi-storied giant wall.

The hunting of millions of fusiliers by the hundreds of Trevallies is the main attraction, where the movie begins. Giant groupers stare at you to establish their existence as well as beautiful orange-colored line fish hover above their nest to say Hello.

You should maintain decent buoyancy because this reef is home to many camouflage stonefish and scorpionfish. Do not touch anything. If you try looking at the surface of the reef with your full attention you might find beautiful as well as very colourful nudibranch laying here and there.
