Coach

Our Coach Connection service operates twice daily from Adelaide, making it an easy way to catch the ferry. We also run shuttle bus services on Kl to and from Penneshaw and into American River and Kingscote.
Drive
If driving’s your thing, SeaLink’s got you covered. Whether you’re bringing your own car or a hire car to Kl, or you want to get behind the wheel when you’re here, the choice is yours – we can arrange a hire car. If your plan is to drive to our Cape Jervis Terminal then leave the car behind, that’s fine too – secure parking is available.

Fly
It’s easy to fly into Kangaroo Island from Adelaide with regular 30 minute flights from the Adelaide Airport to Kingscote. Once you’re here, we’ll help you plan your holiday just the way you like it. We can arrange a hire car and accommodation, book you on a guided tour or arrange a ferry if you’re only flying one way.
Sea
The ferry crossing to Kangaroo Island is a real holiday highlight! Our ferries depart up to twelve times a day, and provide airconditioned lounges, free Wi-Fi, accessible restrooms, wheelchair access and a licensed café. Our ferry terminals also offer cafés serving great coffee and snacks with comfy table and chair seating areas to welcome you and help you prepare for your 45 minute crossing.
How long does it take?
Our ferries depart from Cape Jervis on the mainland to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. The crossing takes just 45 minutes. Cape Jervis is a scenic 110km drive down the Fleurieu Peninsula from Adelaide. Allow two hours for the drive, plus a half hour for check-in and boarding. This will give you plenty of time for a coffee or snack from CJ’s by the Sea Café at our Cape Jervis Terminal.
Self-drive
If you want to go your own way, a self-drive holiday could be perfect for you. Whether you're bringing your own car, or prefer to hire, SeaLink will provide you with the greatest choice of accommodation and attractions to create the perfect break.
Taking your Caravan or Camper Trailer
With campsites and holiday parks located around the island, taking your caravan or camper trailer is a great way to allow you to spend more time seeing the sights.
Please note that camping is only permitted in designated areas on Kangaroo Island. Advance bookings can be made at private parks however bookings are not available for Kangaroo Island Council campgrounds as they work on a first-come, firstserved basis with a self-registering system.
