the project has lent itself to creating an unprecedented living experience in downtown Knoxville. Sustainable sized units interact and form together to maximize natural light, square footage space, and opportunity to engage with others. the building will easily accommodate change over its lifespan. The restaurant and market can be retrofitted to adapt to new businesses that either move into or next To their spaces. The housing units are spacious enough to be adapted into multiple units as demand changes overtime. Steel and concrete construction make the project resilient to natural disaster, especially in a part of the country that experiences little to no issues. Units are retrofitted to include specific bedroom numbers that directly relate in a flat rate cost. Luxury units are also available for families with a large number of tenants. Commercial spaces within the building encourage residents to use their resources on site, which in turn will benefit both entities, allowing them to profit and save. Low and high-rise elements will also work together to increase productivity and sustainability of systems.

reviving risorgimento

art urbain international competition studio - rome art urbain international design competition spring 2018 / rome, italy professor: andrew kranis Partners: subu bhandari & Nathaniel NAlley Identifying the obvious lack of public place, reviving risorgimento uses new architecture and redefined transit to catalyze socialization on an important site in rome’s center. With an open air market at the center of the program, the structure also contains a hostel and restaurant to give new identity to the destination of piazza del risorgimento.

The center features new areas for residents to discuss important decisions, celebrate, and conduct daily business. This brick and steel structure also contains an archive of the town’s rich history in industrial steel production.

industry

Very similar and in relation to Braddock’s history, the town’s industry was vital in its initial founding and growth into the mid-1900s. Today Braddock still produces steel for structures world-wide.

History

The history of Braddock is one rich with industry and steel production. It also has a rich history of its people, where some families have lived for multiple generations.

citizens

Today, Braddock has the personnel foundation for a successful town. This building will contribute and guide citizens to share time with one another in a variety of ways, all for the benefit of the town.
