THE SITE

The site is currently an old building of Architecture Department, three region of different usage supported the daily life of design student, each of them are administration, classroom and studio. There are two ways to get in the department from outside, by accessing the administration area and through the studio are, basically sort of convenient for student and teachers who in and out everyday. But, the main purpose of the building when it’s usage starting to transform, especially when the school campus starting to allow outsider like neighbours to hanging around, the architecture department which located right beside the ring of campus needs to open more spaces to people.

THE VORONOI STRUCTURE

The Voronoi tessellation algorithm is ideal for optimising freeform shapes into self-supporting structures while maintaining topological identity. Tessellated objects can be easily design, fabricated and assembled, so are an ideal candidate for the adaptation of non-linear forms to fabrication. The unique properties of the Voronoi diagram allow external influences such as curvature, assembly, performance and particularly, relationshi ps, to affect the arrangement of cells. This allows the resulting three dimensional structure to effectively adapt spatial dimensions and proportions as occupiable spaces that reflect the varying functions of the building.

THE CONCEPT

By using the function of voronoi cell iterations, study the volumn, voronoi generation, and last the cell block tesselations. With what reflected from site to the script model, therefore models taken as consideration about the final form of the space itself.
