How to Make Homemade Patchwork Quilt?
The Quilt is a great solution to stay warm and comfortable in chilling winters.By adding some designs and style to the quilts, you can also use them as a decorative item for your bedroom. Patchwork quilts look nice and it is very easy to make at home.Even the beginners with limited knowledge of sewing can make beautiful patchwork quilts.

After arranging all these important things,follow the instructions mentioned below to make a homemade patchwork quilt: 1. Choose a Design: For some very attractive options, you can search the designs online. If it is your first trial, then do not try difficult designs. Select some simple designs so that you can neatly create your quilt.
2. Make blocks: After selecting a perfect design, cut blocks of small shapes of fabrics in two different shades or according to your pattern.Use a transparent ruler for accurate size of all your blocks of 15-30cm squares with 6mm extra space for sewing and check if your patches are as per your pattern.
3. Attach the blocks: A. Start with two different blocks according to the pattern. Sew two blocks together with help of sewing machine or needle or thread as shown in the picture below
B. Attach all sandwich blocks to prepare the top layer of the quilt. Now iron the top layer to flatten the sewingand avoid discomfort during the filling and stitching of the quilt.
4. Equal finish to all layers: Now spread the plain fabric and the batting on the floor and cut both of them as per the size of your top sheet. 5. Attach all the layers: After cutting all layers now place the plain fabric on the floor and put the batting on it. Place your top sheet on the batting and remember to put the right side up. After the right placement of all layers, now start sewing with matching thread and start from the center. Sew all the patches and the outer border lines.
6. Make borders of the quilt: Borders are so important to protect the sewing of your quilt and also it gives a beautiful finish to the quilt. A. To make borderscut the fabric into four 12cm wide strips with 5mm extra to fold inward to clear stitching. Keep the length of the strips equal toall four sides of your quilt.
B. Now use the extra 25mm space of the border strip to fold inward to hide it under the fold of 6cm and attach with all sides of the quilt.
Your quilt is ready to use now.You can use it personally or can gift to your closeones to show your love and creativity.
