Welcome to NORR11

Softer Future

Boundaries between home, office and everyday life are gradually blending and each space serves a greater purpose to visually inspire and connect individuals and spaces. In our pursuit to design the furniture and lighting classics of tomorrow we have along the way recognised the need for softness and playfulness in everyday surroundings. Our new collections are inspired by the 70s, a period of expressive exaggerated aesthetics. The collection is a work in progress and in constant refinement but marks a new beginning for NORR11, from our roots in traditional wooden furniture to a Softer Future.

Creating the Classics of Tomorrow

NORR11 is driven by a vision to bring new perspectives to modern interiors across furniture and lighting. Crafted with honest and natural materials, the designs are built-to-last and with commitment to sustainability.

NORR11 believes in creating pieces with personality, providing character and comfort to any space. Fusing Scandinavian design with Asian aesthetics, NORR11's design language combines the past and the present in a timeless design. The inspiration is found in nature and raw natural materials which are evident in the collections.

NORR11

Founded in 2011 in Denmark, NORR11’s headquarters, creative studio and flagship showroom is in the city center of Copenhagen. Since the foundation of the company, NORR11 has worked with young up-andcoming designers representing a new generation of designers.

The name NORR11 refers to our Nordic roots and Nordic design heritage and the day, month and year it all started on the 11.11.2011.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Manifesto

We believe that the most sustainable product is a product that can withstand the test of time, aesthetically and functionally. We work with responsibly sourced, honest materials and strive for a zero waste policy in our production. We will be the first ones to admit we are not perfect, but we are committed to limit the environmental impact of our designs, improve the quality of our products and work towards a more sustainable future.

Longevity

Our mission is to create the classics of tomorrow and we have a dream that every NORR11 design can be passed from one generation to the next. We test our key products for extreme contract usage and offer a 5 year factory warranty on all of our products. To increase the life-span of products we have started offering spare parts to many of our products. Our ambition is that a used NORR11 product will become even more valuable than a new piece of furniture.

Materials

With passion for honest and natural materials we find it equally important to find long lasting materials and timeless tactile materials. All NORR11 furniture is produced using FSC-certified wood from sustainable forests. Doing so, we help make sure that no more trees are felled than the forest can reproduce and that local communities and forest workers are treated with respect. We solely use water-based lacquers, reducing the emission of harmful substances significantly compared to standard lacquers, and improving indoor and external climates while making for better working conditions in the production phase.

Local production and logistics

Over 90% of the NORR11 collection is manufactured with European suppliers that strictly adhere to EU environmental standards and industry certifications. We work with highly experienced local manufacturers and suppliers throughout the supply chain to ensure our products are of the highest quality, meeting and exceeding environmental standards. Our warehouse is strategically located on the outskirts of Berlin, near our production and logistics partners and close to our key European markets.

We are committed to reducing unnecessary freight between production facilities and warehouses and where possible we will deliver direct from our manufacturers to the customer thereby reducing our product’s carbon footprint.

Studio Sofa

Introducing Studio, the newest sofa landscape in the NORR11 collection – a tribute to the timeless era of the 70s and its expressive aesthetics. Featuring a versatile yet simple system of modules, appearing in limitless options to form numerous settings, shapes and styles, blending into all sorts of environments. Whether a small living setting or a spacious public site.

Studio is defined by its bold fluted upholstery characteristics inspired by late 70s sofa styles, refined in a contemporary way – giving the series a unique identity. Each module of Studio articulates soft and welcoming lines ideally suited for living, socializing and relaxing where one can feel totally at ease. The armrest cushion is loose and can be moved and repositioned across the series, balancing the fluted upholstery.

Studio is designed in 2020 by Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl and launched in September 2021.

Water-Based Lacquer

Early in 2021, NORR11 proudly introduced water-based lacquer to the entire range of wooden furniture. Using water-based lacquers instead of standard lacquers reduces the emission of harmful substances significantly, improving indoor and external climates while making for better working conditions in the production phase.

At NORR11, we believe the most sustainable product is a product that can withstand the test of time and to ensure the highest possible quality, products with our water-based lacquer have undergone several tests including scratch tests, lacquer strength tests as well as chip-tests. The result is that our water-based lacquer is more durable than the standard PU lacquer so your furniture will have a longer lifetime too.

Changing to water-based lacquer is one of many important steps on our journey towards creating not only the classics of tomorrow but sustainable classics of tomorrow.

NORR11 is proud to present its collaboration with textile manufacturer Sahco. Sahco, which is part of the Kvadrat group, has nearly two hundred years of experience in the world of textiles and interior textiles. Using classical references as a starting point but always infusing them with a contemporary touch, the Sahco collection of fabrics is in line with NORR11’s design principles. With its rich textures, sophisticated colours, the textiles have timeless appeal.

NORR11 customers can select from the entire Sahco collection but however we have made a curated selection of four timeless fabrics that we highly recommend for our furniture.
