A wall fixed ‘L’ shaped frame supports the bed base and the two headboard large cushions. The structure offers space on both sides of the bed to stack books or place desk lamps: marble or saddle leather trays, a square two drawer chest or suspended elements, such as oval or round shelves in marble or lacquers, and a one drawer chest, can be added to complement this bed system. Confirming once more the great flexibility that characterizes the collection, the wooden headboard and base can be manufactured in the same finish stained oak or lacquers or mixing the two materials, offering the option of a mono chromatic look or a configuration in which different materials play with the accessories. This rug is completely hand knotted in Kathmandu, Nepal and manually finished by skilled craftsmen using a scissor shaving technique to enhance its drawing. 66% Tibetan Ngari yarn, 34% viscose. The fleece is knotted with the “cut pile” technique and refined on different levels (pattern 8mm, base 4 mm).

This is absolutely normal. The wool and/or silk carpets always have some excess fibres, which disappear gradually with the normal use. In order to get a uniform exposure to light and to trampling, we suggest to rotate the carpet regularly. We also recommend removing stains immediately. Proceed with caution in order not to damage the fibres. To remove stains, soak up first of all with blotting paper. Then immerse a cloth or a sponge in lukewarm water. Dampen the stain without rubbing and soak up, repeating these actions until you have completely removed the stain. Himani is a collection including 6 iconic rugs produced in limited and numbered series. A combination of irregular shapes. Each rug is characterised by a series of contrasts: texture, three dimensional elements, uneven surfaces matched with smooth ones, they are all interrupted by a series of organic lines, that give a note of contemporary. Glossy and matt effects, given by the contrast of vegetable silk and wool, react in a different way to light; thanks to light, the refinement of colour combinations in every section of the rugs can be subtly perceived. The different heights of the fleece (“shaggy” on purpose and meticulously hand finished by expert craftsmen) are softened by more refined parts and complete every rug, adding a touch of elegance.

Taken from “Femme à tête de roses" (1935)” 1935 (Woman with a head of roses). It was sufficient for this sculpture to be made as a three dimensional piece, remaining faithful to every detail in Dalí’s painting. Dalí affirmed: “A chair can be used even to sit on, but only on one condition: That we sit uncomfortably.” We can sit on the Leda, but due to the fact that it only has three legs and that the chair is heavy, it being made of solid brass, is more a work of art than a functional piece of furniture.

During the ‘thirties in Paris, Salvador Dalí surrounded himself with a circle of friends involved in the application of art to varied disciplines, above and beyond the study of pure pictorial art. Jean Michel Frank, a furniture maker and decorator of recognized prestige in the Paris of those years, was on very good terms with Dalí and together they worked on several ideas. The Bracelli lamp which we present here is a classic design after Jean Michel’s manner of designing and working, adopted by Dalí for his house at Portlligat. Amongst Dalí ’s specific furnishing projects, and constituting another for his curriculum vitae as a designer, may be counted the garden furnishings for his Portlligat house, the complete architecture of the Night Club (garotte shaped) for the Hotel Presidente in Acapulco

The focus of the project, entirely in aluminium, is represented by the union between extruded shelves and die casting uprights, in central and terminal versions. Vertical modularity of Wind is obtained by the connection of nylon fibre joints inserted into the uprights which grant the maximum stability. Closing element of each composition is the laminated lacquered mdf top, covered by a double aluminium plate.

A newer version of the Lounger with a lower backrest, specially thought for the contract market holding Hayon’s unmistakable hallmark.

In 2019 we presented a series of three side tables called Explorer 1, 2 and 3. So far these pieces have had great success and now we present an addition to this collection.The tables have expanded in growth, maintaining the same signs of identity in personality, pleasantness, elegance and quality in workmanship.

Little decorative items have been part of BD’s catalogue since Ettore Sottsass drafted the Shiva vase back in 1973. Little architectural pieces is what the master called them, which have naturally paralleled larger furniture items, but not less important due to their size. Among them is the humble water bottle designed by Josep M. Jujol, the imperfect vases by Xavier Mañosa, or the more iconic Showtime series by Jaime Hayon. An abundance of talent can be found in them, just the same as can be found in the pieces supporting them such as a cabinet. Their purpose is a decorative one, although for us, they carry an emotional and artistic value. They are timeless and with the passing of time we continue to add designs to a collection that continues to grow in importance within the range we have on offer.

The sofa recalls classic shapes embracing like a nest, a cradle or a shelter. Fluffy overflowing pillows lean over a solid and rigorous structure. They are paunchy like clouds, characterized by small leather details that remind the mattresses stitching.

Deconstructed and oversize, with a soft and round shape, the Damasco sofa detaches from the traditional image of leather upholstery through a simplification of shapes and a youthful design. The seating is comfortable and enveloping, characterized by an upholstery sewed with the typical raw cut.

One of the symbols that defined at most the change in Baxter's story is undoubtedly represented by the Alfred sofa, especially in its vintage version, where the special antiquing technique marks its uniqueness. From that moment on, people no longer considered the classique upholsteries, but rather a design with a soul and a story to tell.

Between the 1960s and 1970s, designers envisioned the house of the future as a dynamic and functional place. Fascinated by the space race, they think of furnishing solutions that can accompany man among the stars; they design new shapes and create them with materials never used before. Many of the environments in which we live today are those of the time, others have remained pure utopia from which it is possible to draw to renew everyday language. In its aerial profile, a synthesis of circle and trapezoid, the Gemma chair by Baxter interprets those codes, opening possible perspectives on those visions.

Angelo Barovier had an idea for a ribbed lamp in 1966. Then his design was revisited, but this time inverted, repeated and created on a giant scale. Its pyramid shape recalls of a Samurai at rest. The Venetian crystal used for this piece is extremely massive, and working it requires the skill and strength of an experienced master glassmaker.

Inspired by an original idea by Ercole Barovier in the 1940s and created using the “rostrato” technique he had just invented, the Ercole floor lamp is distinguished by a rich play of light that creates a sense of luxury and richness.

Adonis is a wall sconce created by Marcel Wanders, inspired by the Dutch floral tradition and fused with Murano glassmaking, which has always featured flowers as a distinctive feature. Graceful butterflies and tulip buds adorn this wall lamp.

The selection of colours, in full, non transparent hues, is a celebration of the material and volume of the object, which is transformed almost into a small work of architecture.

Metropolis is a collection that forcefully evokes the class, symmetrical and plastic forms of Art Deco, shaped by a harmonious, fluid rhythm. The chandelier has a central body in the form of a chalice, from which arms extend, crafted by hand in blown Venetian crystal. The pieces stand out for their sturdy diameter, softened by the external ribbing with its longitudinal arrangement. The sinuous arms curve and reach outward, sliding down at first and then opening upward. The light source is concealed inside the cups in opaline glass, embraced at the two ends by metal collars. The mouldings, proportions and the entire construction of these terminal parts suggest the upper structure of classical columns topped by capitals. This particular character and intense dialogue between materials is even more vivid in the elegant, essential wall model, with its own design and measurements.

Chandeliers full of specific decorations such as the ampoule shaped pendants, mouth blown in the same colour of the arms, and the pyramids (curled points). The twisted main frame is a unique feature that creates an unusual torsion emphasized also by the atypical break in the central trunk.

The “bambolina” is an element used in chandeliers of the Muranese tradition. Spirally arranged and internally lit form a bright swirl which adorns the setting with designs and shadows thanks to the typical glass working called “a balotòn” (giving a cross relief effect on glass).

Angelo Barovier, inspired by a Venetian chandelier from the Barovier&Toso archives, invented a decomposed chandelier made of arms which, like an enchanted snake, rise and sinuously move away from the center. Hence the name: "Bissa" is the word that Venetians use to indicate a snake.

This suspension looks like a dazzling explosion of Venetian crystal, carefully balanced in volume, in the alternation of different colours, in the asymmetrical game of the arms. Perseus is composed of many crystal elements that represent a compendium of the glassmaking techniques studied and developed by Barovier&Toso in the course of its long history, here reinterpreted, paired, and mixed in a subversive way with respect to the canons of classicism.

Set aside the name and everything that it conjures, and you are left with a chair that is the design brief few would ever accept, but yearn to attempt. Belair thus, is the design lovers' dream, one who wants to experiment with contrasts and materials, one who feels that more can be done with raw design and one who feels that the art of relaxation can only be achieved if the environment is constructed to be as such. Belair then is a dialogue, one of oxymoron and sober simplicity. One where the metal frame cradles intelligently crafted cushions, hand stitched and cared for; one where the construction appears like the chair is floating and one which invites you to take a moment and appreciate its beauty before appreciating how you are at ease with its presence. Trying is then, believing.

To describe Final Cut as just a table does a disservice to the vision and applied engineering that went into the construction of what is one of the most beautiful and geometric designs that we have made at Arketipo. In what is a compact style, we have insisted on bringing versatility that is uniquely our own. A multi level surface, the upper is a thin smoked glass layer that is connected with a rotating cylinder and pierces through a lower, thick marble top. A complex and sophisticated geometric design reflecting true dynamic living, making this vision more about today's modern take of living.

Design for the bold, the risk takers, the daredevils the eccentric and we say, there is nothing wrong with that. An original design that is purposefully constructed to provide whoever uses it with two strong sensations; the first is comfort. The high back, regal in nature with a wide seat allows for you to melt and slide into whatever position you want, embracing you the way a luxury armchair should. The second is the unique headrest design; pinch quilted upholstery with quilted parts making it anything but a shrinking violet. This is a refined piece of furniture, one that determines what a statement piece should really be.

The city is a melting pot of ideas, cultures, people, and identities. How can you channel that into something we can all take into our own lives, our own living situations? Gino Carollo may present us with an answer. With its frame in eucalyptus and zebrano wood, a smoked glass segment and a marble top, Brooklyn has a lot going on in one beautifully designed product; not too dissimilar to a place which even New York raised Anthony Bourdain famously quipped, “I have never truly gotten to know.”

Sam Son is an easy armchair with a hint of a cartoon character. Supported on four stilt legs, the armchair features a softly suspended seat shell between a giant, horseshoe shaped element, the chair’s characteristic armrest and backrest. Made from two different rotational mouldings, the armchair combines a rigid plastic for its base and a more elastic polymer for the upper part.

The exaggerated size of the armrest and backrest provides comfort and support and creates a protective space for sitting. Sam Son comes in five different colours and is suitable for both indoors and outdoors.

A truly unique light. Luxurious veined alabaster is hand cut and polished and is a thing of natural beauty and texture. Its curved form and translucent nature allows light to filter through adding a lightness that belies is obvious weight. Detailed with a brass plinth, a compact design for tables, consoles and desks.

The unique veining of the alabaster means that no two lights are the same. Some are almost white whilst others have grey veining. Texture is added by our artisans by chiselling out the stone surface. The alabaster shade glows in a unique way to evoke a luxurious standout piece.

To describe Final Cut as just a table does a disservice to the vision and applied engineering that went into the construction of what is one of the most beautiful and geometric designs that we have made at Arketipo. In what is a compact style, we have insisted on bringing versatility that is uniquely our own. A multi level surface, the upper is a thin smoked glass layer that is connected with a rotating cylinder and pierces through a lower, thick marble top. A complex and sophisticated geometric design reflecting true dynamic living, making this vision more about today's modern take of living.

Set aside the name and everything that it conjures, and you are left with a chair that is the design brief few would ever accept, but yearn to attempt. Belair thus, is the design lovers' dream, one who wants to experiment with contrasts and materials, one who feels that more can be done with raw design and one who feels that the art of relaxation can only be achieved if the environment is constructed to be as such. Metropolis is a collection that forcefully evokes the class, symmetrical and plastic forms of Art Deco, shaped by a harmonious, fluid rhythm.
