Despite volatile markets, Pacific Basin’s $175m bond issue was large in size relative to its market cap and with a longer than average tenor.

Underscoring the company’s strong reputation, the issue was multiple times oversubscribed. Pacific Basin thanks Seatrade and its judges for awarding us the Deal of the Year prize for our 175-million-dollar commercial bond “ issued in December 2019. The deal further reduced our cost of capital and strengthened our already healthy liquidity position. We made it happen during a small window of opportunity while coincidentally all the senior PB finance managers were travelling, proving that even before the Covid-19 lockdown, we were well-equipped to attend to any business remotely. “
