About our school:

KapKa Cooperative School is a dynamic community of children, parents and teachers working together to create an inclusive, experiential learning environment that fosters capable and compassionate lifelong learners. For more than 30 years, KapKa teachers have understood that children thrive in small class sizes with a wide-ranging curriculum that supports natural human curiosity, creativity and emotion. Our combination of evidence-based social-emotional literacy (SEL), trust in our teachers, and the school’s cooperative model — allowing parents to share in the learning experience — sets our school apart from more traditional education options.

Elementary school

What kids will love:

• Emergent curriculum incorporates student interests, enabling children to be fully engaged and invested in learning • Students spend a minimum of 1 hour outside each day, with kindergarteners outside as much as 2.5 hours daily • Yearlong exciting traditions include sleepovers, feasts and a weekend at Camp Orkila!
