About our school:

KapKa Cooperative School, established in 1989, is conveniently located on Phinney Ridge. With approximately 60 students enrolled across K-5, KapKa’s population is small compared to other Seattle private schools. KapKa’s inclusive, experiential learning environment, built on evidence-based social-emotional learning (SEL), trust in our teachers, and the school’s cooperative educational model - which allows parents to share in the learning experience - sets our school apart from more traditional educational options.

What kids will love:

• Emergent curriculum incorporates student interests, enabling children to be fully engaged and invested in learning • Frequent outdoor activity and movement along with access to 90+ acres of wooded parkland • Strong community traditions that include feasts, outings and a weekend at Camp Orkila • Nimble, accessible staff and teachers who respond quickly and intelligently to challenges • Multi-age cooperative learning environment allows children to learn with and from one another and the adults in their community • Warm, welcoming and engaged parent community with regular parent-oriented events including fun socials and topical parent education
