Spend a weekend, one-on-one, with world-acclaimed educator, Dr. Gerard Chiche assisted by Dr. Tyler Lasseigne, in this special aesthetics program where a small group of attendees will be given the tools to significantly improve their aesthetic treatment skills from a practical and functional standpoint. Dr. Gerard J. Chiche is the Thomas P. Hinman Endowed Chair in Restorative Dentistry and the Director of the Center for Esthetic & Implant Dentistry at MCG School of Dentistry in Augusta, Georgia. He has taught and mentored numerous clinicians worldwide with his practical aesthetic concepts and techniques. He holds membership in many organizations including the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry. He is the author of two landmark textbooks in aesthetic dentistry with Alain Pinault and Hitoshi Aoshima: Esthetics of Anterior Fixed Restorations, and Smile Design – A Guide for Clinician, Ceramist and Patient, both published by Quintessence Publishing Co. He is a past-president of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and serves as adjunct faculty at the Pankey Institute. Dr. Chiche is the recipient of numerous awards, including the 2003 Seattle Study Club Educational Community Achievement Award and in 2009 he became the first recipient of the Endowed Chair sponsored by the Thomas P. Hinman Dental Society.

Dr. Tyler P. Lasseigne is an assistant professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. He maintains a private practice limited to comprehensive restorative dentistry in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. Lasseigne received his postgraduate education in prosthodontics at LSUSD while obtaining certification in Dental Lab Technology. He now serves as adjunct faculty at the Pankey Institute and is a member of numerous professional academies. In addition to a private practice, Dr. Lasseigne is an educator and expert in aesthetics and comprehensive dentistry.

Day one—Friday, June 7 Aesthetic & Functional Treatment, Flagship Restorative Products The Secrets to Achieving Beautiful & Functional Results

During this full day of interactive lectures, case discussions and product evaluations, Dr. Chiche will present “An Aesthetic Treatment Planning Update,” where four selected cases will be discussed, along with several systematic formulas for: 1) predictable step-by-step restorative success, 2) occlusal success, and 3) protection strategy. Dr. Chiche will also cover his “all-time favorite” materials from prep to crown, including an update of all-ceramic systems and cements for crowns and veneers. Following this program, attendees should be able to: • Establish procedures for predictable aesthetic treatment. • Implement a systematic occlusal strategy for protection of aesthetic restorations. • Evaluate and implement restorative materials used by Dr. Chiche that allow him to deliver top-quality dentistry.


Day Two—Saturday, June 8 Preparations & Provisionals

A Hands-on Experience—Full Day

The day will start with a short orientation lecture to introduce and treatment plan a selected case that will be simulated in a special Tooth Preparation Workshop, where participants will prepare six teeth with actual case replicas on custom-made dentoforms. As a continuation to the morning preparations hands-on program, Dr. Chiche will focus the afternoon on provisional crown fabrications using his favorite tips and techniques. A porcelain veneer case will also be presented with a spotlight on provisional restorations fabricated by participants.

Following this program, attendees should be able to: • Implement simple and practical tips for all-ceramic crowns and porcelain veneer tooth preparations. • Apply simple and systematic tips and techniques for fabrication of provisional restorations for all-ceramic crowns and porcelain veneers.

Day Three—Sunday, June 9 Delivering the Case Final Thoughts: Clinical Cases—Treatment Decisions

We will conclude our one-on-one weekend of intense programming and handson learning with final clinical cases from Drs. Chiche and Lasseigne. This section will cover clinical management and treatment decisions of challenging clinical situations including heavy discolorations, irregular spacing, gingival and incisal discrepancies, veneer-crown combinations and implant management.

ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. Cancellation & Refund Policy Written notice of cancellation must be sent by certified mail to the Seattle Study Club, 635 Market Street, Kirkland, WA 98033 no later than February 1, 2013 in order to receive a refund of 50 percent of the tuition. No refund is available for cancellations received after February 1, 2013.
