Ephesians 1: 4-5 states, “Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be Holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.” Matthew 3:17 states, “And suddenly a voice came from Heaven, saying, ‘This is My Beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased.’” Proverbs 16:9 states, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.”
T
he above Holy Scriptures remind me that God is still with us. He still has work for us to do and most of all, His Son is guiding us through all the rough terrain of living life on this earth. If your own people will crucify Your Son (Jesus), we (Jesus followers) can certainly look forward to some rebellion from those who think we (people of color) are not worthy. God created us in His image, and we are all the same on the inside. The bottom line is: Change is hard for some, and that’s why we pray for everyone. I want to congratulate America for making JUNETEENTH a National Holiday- - Just another achievement for the hard-working Americans of African descent who didn’t give up on what we know to be our true heritage! This is another victory for God’s people. While we celebrate July 4th, Independence Day (from Great Britain is 1776), we still struggle to be treated the same as other people. We also recognize that the history taught in our schools did not do our true heritage justice; so, the fight will continue. My prayer is that the “1619 Project” acknowledging the slavery concept from the beginning, will be the next big teaching in America. I was told you cannot fix a problem until you admit there is one. The birth, life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus is our Saving Grace, Atonement and Reconciliation back to Him; all we need to do is believe and have faith in Him, change our wicked ways and pray for everyone to do the same. He’s already done the rest. The Lord has His Hands on our Journey!
