MESSAGE ARGENIS ANGULO 2022 JCI PRESIDENT Dearest Members of JCI Malacca City Entrepreneur, I am tremendously excited to start this new journey with your Local Organization and remain thankful to you for giving me the opportunity to address you early on, especially at your Local Organization Installation Ceremony! JCI is making stands across the world, as we have continuously faced all types of challenges for two years and have come out on the other side not only standing, but thriving! I would like to take this special occasion to extend my warm congratulations to the JCI Malacca City Entrepreneur’s incoming President, Valarie Ngoh Huay Ling and my best wishes for a successful 2022, and my gratitude to Immediate Past President Vincent Ng for the contributions and accomplishments in 2021. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share some of our 2022 aims and values. Our primary goals for this year shall be to create valuable events and other actions that will raise the JCI brand awareness, to boost membership growth and retention, as well as launching and improving on new JCI products that will enhance the member experience while developing our financial sustainability. Please allow me to elaborate on our annual theme “Leading is our Duty”. At JCI, rather than having our members focus on what they want to get or receive in their societal and professional life, we want to uniquely focus on instilling responsibility, a sense of duty and purpose in them, so that they want to do what they should do for a better world. It is through this mentality that our global organization shall impart its values and knowledge to our members and to the entire world, establishing a new framework of human duties that ushers in a new era in human history. As we slowly oversee the return of in-person events and develop our hybrid system capacities, I am looking forward to exchanging more ideas with JCI Malaysia and its 2,676 members during the Asia Pacific National Presidents Meeting, as well as the Asia Pacific Area Conference, under the regional leadership of Executive Vice President Pheng Kouch and Vice President Zolbadral Batmunkh. Once again, enjoy this new beginning and have it be the elevated standard for all your actions during the rest of this ensuing year! Together with our Board of Directors, I shall accompany you along the way, as Leading is our Duty!

MESSAGE JCI SEN. ELLEN LU 2022 JCI MALAYSIA NATIONAL PRESIDENT Dear fellow JCI members, JCI Alumni, and JCI Senators of JCI Malacca City Entrepreneur: Greetings from Swan City! When I received the invitation to provide my message in your 2nd e-newsletter, it caught me by surprise realising that two quarters have passed in a blink of an eye! “When good performance comes with appropriate, honest, and well-deserved praise, employees feel they are trusted and supported by their boss.”- Judith E. Glaser, CEO & Organizational Anthropologist I feel great resonance with the quote where every time I decided to celebrate an occasion or someone’s accomplishment, I would put thoughts to how we can best express gratitude and give credit where credit is due. “What kind of praises and acknowledgements would a particular person benefit from and feel empowered?” For me, Success is not about getting from A to B. It’s about mastering a way of working that fosters creativity, fulfilment, and personal investment, enabling you to not only make progress, but the clear intention and devotion of wanting to make progress continuously. Think of it as a well-designed wheel, rather than a simple straight line. If this were the case and there were no mountain tops nor finish lines, it will be up to leaders to find plausible moments to celebrate with team “on-the-go,” rather than waiting to get to some final destination. Success is a process, not an end game. It’s now the time to review our progress and to celebrate the success and motivate our team to go further. I wish you all the best for next half year and I will see you coming 13th to 15th October 2022 in our 2022 National Convention in Kuching, Sarawak. Once again, leading is our duty, let us all take the LEAD! Thank you. JCI Senator Ellen Lu 2022 National President Junior Chamber International Malaysia .

CORPORATE VISIT SHOPEE HQ

Organising Chairperson: Douglas

Date: 17th June 2022

2There’s no doubting it – the opportunity of selling online has helped several businesses earn more and grow successfully. So here comes our 3rd corporate visit event. JCI MCE was beyond blessed to have this opportunity to conduct a learning trip to one of the largest E-commerce platform in Southeast Asia, Shopee, together with our co-host JCI Kuala Lumpur Mandarin (JCIKLM) and JCI Johor Bahru - Malaysia. Thru this, we learnt the existence of a corporate culture, CSR strategies, and how the departments within an organisation such as Human Resource, Accounting & Financial, Marketing and Sales join their forces to achieve the business’ goals. This event allowed us to understand more about the market place which is good for business expansion.

Love each other dearly always. There is scarcely anything else in the world but that: To Love One Another And yes, here comes our annual flagship project of the year: Caring Angel 9.0! A weekend filled up with so much of loves, joy, inspires & touched. We've went to visit Yayasan Sunbeams Home , Alor Gajah branch. We communicated, we played, we had fun together. It's truly amazing when seeing them enjoyed so much & how grateful they were at the end of the day. When children see the joy it brings to show love to others, it’s exciting for them to model this behavior.

LOVE & SUPPORT FOR THE NEEDY

A little help with a sweet smile gives meaning to human life. Giving the needy moral support, showing heartfelt humility and respect makes them aware that someone really does care about them and trying to improve their condition. JCI MCE community team has constantly look out to help out those OKUs and underprivileged families in the community. This time round, we've interviewed a few underprivileged familes. We can see that they are going through hard times, especially during the pandemic period. We provided them with food and daily necessities, and constantly support them mentally and physically. One thing great to share is, we also help the children from the underpriviledged families to get a job, make sure that they've got a stable income to sustain their living. The community team liaised with Mac Donald Malacca, shared the condition of the underprivileged children, and finally job was being offered. Always offer help, support and kindness proactively. Pay attention to the people around us, a little thing can really changes their live. Page 31 | JCI MCE
