A UNIQUE STUDIO

It’s hard to find the words to describe Allendale Studios with its mix of visual art, sculpture, ceramics and unique hand crafted, women’s fashion ware. The creation of well known sculptor and ceramicist, Dianne Coulter, there is a surprise around every corner, from walking through the entrance gate, along the winding path through the expansive garden and into the studio that also has a bar and refreshment corner.

A deep thinker with a very strong sense of social justice, Di’s artwork is a reflection of how she views the world. There is a story in each piece and whilst her clothing lines are not for the faint hearted with their bold colours and style, they are in essence simple in structure. As Di says “I’m not shy and I love to be seen and isn’t that true of most women”.

Add to the mix of Allendale Studio, Di has established bed and breakfast accommodation, again showcasing her unique style with the India and the Africa Room. Di’s hand can be seen in almost everything on the property. It’s not unusual to find her cutting up palings for the front fence, or with a hammer at the ready, when not working in her studio. Dianne Coulter is a fascinating woman who has created a fascinating destination.
