Foul Shot
For his interactive installation , Brandon Donahue transforms Seed Space into a half-court basketball gym using found objects and bamboo. Interested in the transformational nature of the vernacular, Donahue collects materials with the intention of adding to their history. His collection of mass-produced, publicly displayed and abandoned urban forms such as fallen street signs, basketballs, car bumpers, and hubcaps are informed by traditions of folk art, hip hop, and street art, and occupy a space that exists somewhere between high and low culture.

Brandon Donahue
is a Memphis, TN native currently living and working in Nashville, TN. Donahue began airbrushing at the age of 12, doing t-shirts, murals, automotives, and body painting. He received his B.S. from Tennessee State University and M.F.A. from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Donahue is currently an assistant professor of art at Tennessee State University.

Seed Space
is a lab for site-specific installation, sculpture and performance-based art in Nashville. We support our program in three specific ways. We bring in nationally recognized art critics to write our exhibition essays. We host regularly scheduled public talks. We facilitate meetings among artists, critics and curators. Through these means we aim to foster an exchange between a growing network of local and national artistic communities, which we believe is one of the best ways to support the careers of emerging artists. Located in the Track One building in the Wedgewood Houston neighborhood of Nashville, Seed Space is supported by the Nashville Cultural Arts Project (NCAP), and is made possible with grants from the Tennessee Arts Commission, the Metro Nashville Arts Commission and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
