Bamboo is different in nature, depending on where it is grown, the season, and the variety. For this reason, only skilled craftsmen who have the flexibility to work with these properties are able to manufacture stable quality bamboo knitting needles.
In 2016, Kinki Amibari celebrated its 100th anniversary. Over these years, we have devoted ourselves to making the best use of our accumulated skills and expertise to improve the quality of our products and to develop easier-to-use knitting needles.
We developed the asymmetric circular needle that makes it easier to work small diameters and the circular needle that prevents the cord from twisting. These are just two examples of how our products came to life based on careful examination of ideas and repetition of trial and error.
Our product line that includes not only variation, but also innovative ideas such as the asymmetric needles or rotating joints is a direct reflection of our history of development.
Koshitsu is the bamboo needle with brown color.
"Koshitsu" is a product that has achieved a smooth surface and long lasting durability through special treatment with "high temperature, high-pressure and with natural plant wax" developed by our company based on our vast experience over 100 years of history. It is characterized by density of the needles, the glossy surface, and the slippery feel. And above all, it is our original feature that no other company offers.
Shirotake is the bamboo needle with natural color.
"Shirotake" is a bamboo knitting needle that allows you to enjoy the natural texture of bamboo. It is softer than our “Koshitsu” knitting needles, so you can enjoy the natural resilience of bamboo. The carefully polished surface and needletips are smooth and provide comfortability in knitting.

The asymmetric circular needle is a Seeknit original product
The asymmetric circular needle is a Seeknit original product developed in 2010 to make knitting small diameter tubes such as socks comfortably. One of the needles is just one centimeter shorter than the other and that makes a big difference in smoothness and comfort.
Our exclusive original 23cm Asymmetric Circular Needles were developed for use with sock yarn, and are available in diameters from 2.00mm to 6.00mm.
Asymmetric Circular Needles have a short needle and a long needle. Put the stitches on the short needle and work through with the long needle. Since the moving needle is longer it is easier to hold, making these suited for small circular projects such as socks.

All of our circular needles feature a flexible rotating joint that prevents twisting, allowing for smooth knitting. Circular needles will save time on tube knitting projects compared to using straight needles. All our circular needles feature a rotating swivel cord that prevents from twisting, so you can enjoy knitting comfortably.
Circular needles can be used for all tube knitting projects such as sweaters and hats, and for other non-circular projects such as shawls.
Circular needles with short cords can be used for small projects such as mittens, socks, sleeves, baby hats, wrist warmers, and leg warmers.

Our numbers of Bamboo Interchangeable Circular Needle are available with a wide selection of needle lengths, sizes, and cable lengths, making many combinations possible. You can customize your original set by yourself as you like. All our circular needles feature a rotating swivel cord that prevents from twisting, so you can enjoy knitting comfortably.
Interchangeable Circular Needles are products that allow you to mix and match cord joints, Joint converters, stoppers and other parts or to customize circular needles sizes and shapes as you like.
Interchangeable Circular needles with short cords can be used for small projects such as mittens, socks, sleeves, baby hats, wrist warmers, and leg warmers.
Points to note when selecting a interchangeable circular needle and cord length:
Total length of the two interchangeable needle tips must be shorter than the cord length. If the total length of the two interchangeable circular needles tips exceeds the length of the cord, it can not be used as a circular needle.

10cm / 4inch:
The cord length longer than 20cm is required.
12.5cm / 5inch:

How to care for Seeknit bamboo knitting needles and precautions for use
1. Each bamboo has different color
Since bamboo knitting needles are made of natural materials, the fiber, color, and texture are different for each one. Koshitsu bamboo needles that have been treated with high temperature and high pressure have different colors from light to dark brown. In addition, the color may change over the years of use.
2. Laser engraving
The size for each bamboo knitting needle is laser engraved. The bamboo has a hard lenticel part and a soft inner part. Furthermore, because the density and hardness of the fibers differ from bamboo to bamboo, there are differences in the depth of engraving.
3. Handle gently
Bamboo knitting needles are made of natural material, so if strong force is applied, the needle may break, scratches or dents may occur. If you hold the needle excessive firmly and knit it, the needle may break, such as when the stitches are tight. When handling, do not apply excessive force and handle it gently.
4. Precautions for use and storage
Since natural bamboo is used, please refrain from using it if it gets wet with water or if water vapor adheres to it. When it gets wet, the fibers on the surface of the bamboo needles become fluffy, making the needles less slippery. Also, to prevent the growth of mold, wipe it with a dry cloth after use. Storage: Please refrain from storing in a humid place. The needle may become less slippery and get moldy.
5. What to do if the needle thread slips worse
If used for a long time, the surface of the bamboo may deteriorate and the slippage of the thread may worsen. We recommend to apply carnauba wax. Place the needle on a flat surface, hold the solid carnauba wax in your hand, and rub the surface of the needle with the wax and polish with a dry cloth. The slipperiness of the thread and the gloss of the bamboo are improved.
6. How to deal with discolored metal parts
Circular needle and interchangeable circular needle have brass metal fittings and they may discolor over time. In that case, soak a cloth with a commercially available penetrating lubricant (e.g. WD-40) and wipe the metal fittings. At that time, please be careful not to let the penetrating lubricant adhere to the bamboo needles. If it adheres, wipe it off immediately with a cloth.
