(Seguin) – When it comes providing emergency care, GRMC is again officially ranked in the Top 9 percent of hospitals throughout the United States.

For the second year in a row, Guadalupe Regional Medical Center (GRMC) has been named one of America’s Best Hospitals for Emergency Care by the Women’s Choice Award®. America’s trusted referral source for the best in healthcare.

“It is a privilege to be nationally recognized for the second consecutive year for providing the highest level of emergency care to our community,” said Nicole Patek, Guadalupe Regional Medical Center’s executive director of emergency services. “Being named top 9 percent in the nation for this distinction highlights our commitment to providing expert, compassionate emergency care to our patients.”

Delia Passi, founder and CEO of the Women’s Choice Award, says each year, there are more than

130 million emergency room visits in the U.S. She says emergency departments continue to be an essential part of the healthcare system as they provide fast, lifeor-limb saving care to millions each year. Unlike other hospital departments that interact with the same patient and families for an extended period, Passi says ER staff typically has one patient encounter, often when anxiety and fear is at its peak.
