Top-seed TLU Baseball and Softball Teams to Play in SCAC Tournaments

(Cleburne) -- The Texas Lutheran baseball team wrapped up the regular season title in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, earning the top seed in the tournament which starts on Friday in Cleburne.

TLU ended their regular season with a walk-off win on Sunday over Southwestern at Katt-Isbel Field on the Texas Lutheran campus. The win on Sunday coupled with a loss by Trinity clinched the SCAC regular season conference title for the first time in program history for Texas Lutheran. The Bulldogs have won 12 straight games going into the conference tournament.

TLU’s first game will be on Friday at 1 p.m. at The Depot at Cleburne Stadium. The tournament will continue through Sunday.

(San Antonio) -- The DivisionIII 5th-ranked Texas Lutheran softball team won the SCAC regular season title for the 9th straight year going 19-2 in conference play. The Bulldogs will play as the top seed in the conference softball tournament this weekend over in San Antonio.

Bulldog senior Ashlyn Strother tossed a perfect game while TLU head coach Wade Wilson earned his 800th career win spanning his high school and college coaching career during a weekend sweep of the University of Dallas at Ed Kruse Stadium.

Game one in the conference tourney for the Bulldog softball team is Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. against either 4th-seeded Centenary or 5thseeded Trinity. The Ladies and the Tigers will play Friday morning to determine the Bulldogs opponent.

The SCAC softball tournament will take place Friday through Sunday at the Trinity University Softball Field in San Antonio.
