McQueeney Baptist Church VBS

The McQueeney Baptist Church will have its VBS, “Twists & Turns,” from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, July 24 through Friday, July 28 at 201 Schumann Rd in McQueeney. Jury Cancellation

Kingsbury VFD Bar-B-Que

The 52nd Annual Kingsbury Volunteer Fire Department Bar-B-Que will be held Saturday, July 29 at the station in Kingsbury. DJ Bo Peep will play from 1 to 5 p.m. and $12 plates will be served from 5:30 to 9 p.m. There will also be games for kids, country store, auction, beer garden & margaritas and a free dance under the stars at 9 p.m. with Clint Taft & The Buck Wild Band.

Texas Women of Influence Gala Night & Conference

The Texas Women of Influence Gala Night & Conference will be held Wednesday, Aug. 2 and Thursday, August 3 at the Seguin Coliseum. The Hats of to Her Gala is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2 The cost is $75 per person or $500 for a table of 8. There will be a contest for the best decorated hat. Youth Co-Ed Volleyball League

The Seguin Parks and Recreation Department will offer a Youth Co-Ed Volleyball League for children in 2nd through 6th grades Friday evenings from Friday, Aug. 4 to Friday, Sept. 8. 2nd and 3rd grades will play from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and players in 4th through 6th grade will play from 6 to 8 p.m. on Fridays at the volleyball complex adjacent to the Seguin Coliseum, located at 950 S. Pack the Bus

Seguin PD Backpack Drive

The Seguin Police Department is seeking donations for its Backpack Drive. School supplies that are needed include: clear backpacks, notebooks, writing utensils, and folders. Monetary donations are also being accepted in the form of cash or cashapp to $seguinpd. Donations can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Seguin Police Department, located at 350 N. Guadalupe St. in Seguin. Allan Dreibrodt Memorial Fundraiser

The Allan Dreibrodt Memorial Fundraiser will be held Saturday, Aug. 5 at the Columbus Club Hall of Seguin. Doors open at 5 p.m. with serving of a meal by Next Door Catering at 5:30 p.m., a dance by Gary Glenn and the 20X Band, and auction at 9 p.m. There will also be raffles and a silent auction. Seguin Parrot Head Club Phling

The Seguin Parrot Head Club will have its Annual Phling from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5 at the McQueeney Lions Club, located at 3211 FM 78 in McQueeney. Tickets are $60 per ticket and are available at the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce, Gift and Gourmet, and Alamo Title New Braunfels. Must be over 21 to purchase. Tickets at the door are $70.
