Vote to Perk Your Park
Max Starcke Park East has been selected as one of nine park projects in the 2023 Niagara Perk Your Park Campaign in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). Celebrate Recovery
The Celebrate Recovery ministry at Crossroads Church meets from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday nights at 3455 W. Hwy 90 in Seguin. Celebrate recovery is for anyone dealing with anxiety, alcohol, depression, codependency, unforgiveness, self doubt, addiction, grief, eating disorders, relationships, anger, substance abuse, destructive behavior, spending, stress, and more. Precious Life School Supply Distribution
The Precious Life Suicide Prevention will have its School Supply Distribution, for children Pre-K through 12th grade, from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 19. Adult Creative Crochet Class
The Seguin Art League will offer an adult Creative Crochet Class from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17 at 104 S. Austin St. in Seguin. Friedens Church Sausage Supper
The Friedens Church will have its Sausage Supper from 5 p.m. until it’s gone Friday, Aug. 18 in the Friedens Church Activities Center. Plates are $12 and include sausage, potato salad, baked beans, and tea. Desserts will also be available for purchase.
Wildlife Management Association Fall Meeting
The Guadalupe County Wildlife Management Association will have its Fall Meeting beginning with a social hour at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18 at the The Red Barn, located at 390 Cordova Rd. in Seguin. Dinner plates by Next Door Catering are $14. The program will be a discussion of a wide variety of wildlife topics by Wildlife Biologist, Trent Teinert. Benefit Fundraiser
There will be a Benefit Fundraiser for Janine Moltz from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19 at the VFW in Geronimo. Plates are $12 and include BBQ chicken, potato salad, green beans, bread, tea or water. Dine in or out available. Cake slices or whole cakes will be available at an additional cost. Benefit Fundraiser
There will be a Benefit Fundraiser for Seguin City Council District 2 Member, Sonia Mendez from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19 at the Seguin Coliseum. BBQ Plates are $15 and are available at Seguin City Hall. There will also be raffles and a silent auction. Monetary donations are accepted at First United Bank or Venmo at Sonia-Mendez-23312. Proceeds will help medical expenses for a debilitating illness.
Silver Center Dance with Bittersweet
The Silver Center will have a dance featuring Bittersweet at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19 in the Crystal Chandelier Room. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and hot food and cold beverages will be available for purchase. Limited pre-sale tickets are available for $15. The dance is expected to sell out. Youth Co-Ed Golf Clinics
The Starcke Park Golf Course, in partnership with First tee Program Greater San Antonio, is hosting a series of golf clinics for youth this fall. Children ages 7 to 13 will have an opportunity to learn the basics of playing golf. All clinics will be held at Starcke Park. The clinics will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21 and Monday Aug. 28 for ages 7 to 9, Thursday, Sept. 21 and Thursday, Sept. 28 for ages 10 to 11, and Tuesday, Oct. 17 and Tuesday, Oct. 24 for ages 12 to 13.
