Each quartz crystal used in a 9F movement is grown in the company’s own autoclaves, individually selected, aged for 90 days to ensure the stability of its performance and then individually regulated by an IC in line with its performance characteristics. Once inside the watch, the movement samples the ambient temperature 540 times per day and uses that information to adjust the frequency of the crystal to compensate. is meticulous selection and aging process, along with the thermal compensation system, ensures the precision rate of ±10 seconds per year.

Some play is necessary to allow the gear train to operate smoothly and it results in a slight shuddering of the seconds hand. To lessen this play, the Backlash Auto-Adjust Mechanism was developed with a use of a hairspring, a core component, of course, in every mechanical watch. By utilizing the slight spring power obtained by the hairspring, the faint shuddering of the seconds hand can be stabilized so that the seconds hand lands clearly on its index. Broad hands powered by the Twin Pulse Control Motor
When time is measured to such high levels of accuracy, it is vital that the way that the time is displayed lives up to this standard. is is why the broad hands on every Caliber 9F watch extend right to the edge of the dial, ensuring that the time can be read exactly at a glance. It takes high levels of torque to drive these hands so the Twin Pulse Control Motor was developed to make this po ssible. Unseen by the human eye, the seconds hand moves in two steps, triggered by the two successive pulses.
A protective shield construction
A protective shield construction ensures that the rotor and the gear train of the quartz movement are protected from dust. anks to this precautionary design feature, dust cannot enter the changed.
Changing the date in the blink of an eye e precision of the 9F movement extends to the way that the date changes. It utilizes a cam and lever in conjunction with the date indicator driving wheel to build tension in a lever spring as it rotates, eventually releasing the stored energy when it reaches the location of the cam and driving the calendar wheel forward in the blink of an eye
A ssembly and adjustment, by hand
Each 9F movement is assembled by hand but there remains one these remarkable watches. Attaching the watch hands is one of the most delicate and precise procedures and it requires the greatest skill. All of the three hands on the watch are on genuinely independent axes. Only an expert in adjustment can ensure that all three hands, a mere 0.2mm apart, operate smoothly.
