From the edge to the core, located at the intersection of three axes, and facing contrasting cityscapes on each side, the Wenxin Guozhai area is selected as an imaginary site to implant a new type of experimental housing, trying to break the closure of today's towering housing complexes, and create dialogue with the city and within its own community.
UNRAVELING EVERYDAY LIFE 07
The volume of the house is formed from top to bottom, creating a public ground surface composed of service cores and columns that allows people to pass through freely. The commercial activities along the street continue on the periphery of the street profile, and when it penetrates to the inside, it becomes a patio or atrium to increase lighting and provide rest space. Thin and thick columns, dark and bright spaces allow the flow of people in the city and life to extend. From outdoor slopes you can go up to the community level on the second floor. There is a 10 meters wide community center for workshops and other shared spaces. The southernmost end extends and overlooks the river course. It is surrounded by green landscapes and community farms, and is separated from the residential floor above by about 3 to 5 meters, preserving unobscured sight.
THE WAY HOME 08

The plan of standard level is the section of the seventh floor. The void painted in gray are open platforms for the community displaying on the façade, while the residential part, as can be read from the drawing, is interlaced together by thick and thin slabs, extruding the openings and facing both sides. Houses are formed with stair circulation and face each other with balconies.

HOME TO COMMUNITY
FLOWING INTERFACES 12
The community layer below connects and extends the axis of the river on the south side, the volume and height of different densities decrease from north to south, and the residences enter the unit through the outer public corridor or service core facing the community atrium. The 12m thick slabs include cross-storey units, as well as void space on the facade, among which the westernmost viewing platform can overlook the urban green axis of the city. 7.5m thin slabs include various kinds of living units regarding length, in which they meet with shared balconies. The bottom of slabs are sloped upwards to form view openings and climate passages.
13
The unit within the 12-meter slab contains a staircase that allows users to transition between openness and privacy in the process of moving up and down and through the changing the heights of the rooms.
DYNAMICITYoccupants.OF THE EVERYDAY 14
The unit within the 7.5-meter slab defines the space with level differenc es, making the interior both continuous and independent. Walking along the stairs , people perceive internal and external changes at the same FInally,time.themulti-person residential units are lacated at the corner which connects with the two axes thus forming a circular cirlulation. The contrast of dynamic and static within the outer and inner layer creates a new interactive mode for
Through the double-sided housing units, the windows of each room become a bridge to the com munity and city. Between natural and artificial, slow and fast, small and large scale, the almost disappearing facade returns its expression to each individual dweller.

III. One side of the iron sheet roof is partially covered with the roof of the adjacent house, and the inner column is bent along the contour of the junction.
Creating supercritical spaces can stimulate dialogue between different individuals, turning them into interme diary spaces, and derive flexible interfaces containing multiple meanings. I.
A FLEXIBLE CONFIGURATION
16
A curatorial position - images and interpretation
Supercritical is a configuration that is beyond and close to the boundary. This state has the original character istics of two substances at the same time, but it is difficult to distinguish and classify due to the close combinaI.tion.The warehouse borrows the remaining wall of the adjacent house as the surrounding wall. This wall simultane ously defines the inner edge that no longer exists and the outer edge of the adjacent land, which turns the previous indoor area into which bearing overlapping meanings of the inside and outside.
II. When neighbouring homeowners build on the land border, the structure and the gutter are staggered and shared together, blurring the boundaries and forms a co-construction of the field.

When two systems meet, a relationship of mutual advance and retreat can make space flexible. By establishing interlaced floor slabs of the two structural systems of both pressure and tension, we form a space where the precence of three generations in the family flow around each other. The suspension and the load-bearing plate are disengaged at the intersection, forming atriums, crossing movements and sharing furniture.

SITE PLAN
The basement level is a standard cinema with a total of 5 halls; the ground floor is opened as an outdoor theater with shops and clubs, and in front, the red carpet area can hold fan meetings. The fourth and fifth floors are hotel spaces. The rooms are divided into four areas, each from top to bottom are Co-reading, Co-kitchen, and the Co-lounge overlooking the ground floor. In addition, there are four slits embedded into the plan in order to bring in light and nature, and outdoor bars are arranged within them.
Netflix started with streaming services in the early days. In recent years, it has launched original movies combined with local cultural features. In hope to break the more and more personalized movie-watching tendency (on mobile devices) and return people to the state of group sharing and attending movie nights, (and at the same time expand the reach rate and number of fans), we designed various theaters intended for sharing activities, including indoor cinemas, an outdoor theater, and shared living rooms for dwellers. These spaces are scattered in the lower, middle and upper floor levels, creating a unique relationship between the seeing and being seen.

THE CITY IS COMPRESSED THROUGH THE CORNER OF THE STREET, AND RELEASED TO THE SCALE OF THE LANE.
The site is located in the Central-Western district of Tainan City, also known as the old Tainan, where the old city’s political, economic and cultural center stood. The target is to set up a second department for the NCKU faculty of architecture, and to retain the original Jinwanzi second-hand bookstore. It is observed that Youai Street on the south side of the site will be the main green corridor of the government’s plan to connect the new art museums 1 and 2, but the block is actually rich in small green spaces, including Yuqian Square, the Central library courtyard, and atriums in Taiwan Literature Museum. By creating an intermediary space, as the city is compressed through the corner of the street, and released to the scale of the lane, this space can be used as a place for students to communicate and share. The bridge between the main green belt and the small courtyards allows students to connect with the surrounding environment instead of burying themselves in studios all day.

The first floor is retained for Jinwanzi bookstore with an additional community workshop. The natural terrain is connected to the difference usages and the existing lanes are kept for traffic connection into the block; the second floor is the information plaza, the library and the lecture hall; the third floor is for offices and the main critique , opened to the city on the corner so that the activities can be read by the passerby; the fourth floor is the first-grade studio and an outdoor working platform overlooking the Zhongyi Elementary School and the historical Wude Hall with large green plazas; through the stairs on the northwest side, you can watch the roof of the old house fas you ascend from the fifth floor to the seventh floor, which is arranged as studios from second-grade to graduates. There is a movable compartment which could be used for class, discussion, leisure... It connects the activities of the studios on both sides. The top floor serves as a student activity space overlooking the city.
