Introduction to Our Concept for the Verzasca Authorities
HoteliersGuild is a non-profit private society for international discerning industry leaders with a pledge to sustainable luxury and responsible travel, and the services and advise provided to the Corippo Foundation 1975 are pro-bono.
Our concept to elevate the Corippo Albergo Diffuso model into a more sustainable and viable business rests on four core pillars, each contributing to a model that is sustainable, culturally enriching, and economically sound:
Respectful Architecture & Design: We prioritize the acquisition of additional rustici, the preservation and careful restoration of Corippo’s unique architectural heritage, ensuring that each rustico retains its traditional charm while meeting the needs of modern hospitality.
Hospitality & Cuisine: By enhancing the village’s culinary offerings in close collaboration with the Chef and via the HoteliersGuild Chefs Chapter, we aim to provide guests with an authentic taste of local cuisine, incorporating seasonal ingredients and regional specialties in a fusion with international cuisine.
Cultural & Wellness Events for Marketing & PR: Curated events that celebrate local culture and wellness are central to our strategy. These events attract visitors while promoting Corippo as a destination that values both tradition and well-being.
EcoLuxNature SPA Diffuso by ananné: This innovative spa concept focuses on sustainable luxury, offering wellness experiences inspired by nature and designed to blend seamlessly into the local landscape.
To achieve long-term success, our strategy involves streamlining supply chains and consolidating backroom and marketing processes. This approach enables us to realize the benefits of scale as we expand, creating efficiencies that support sustainable growth. Additionally, this model is backed by our CHC-Alliance Partners and bolstered by international collaborations through our global network, positioning Corippo as a unique destination with a strong foundation for future development.

Please allow us to discuss an exciting initiative, the Corippo Albergo Diffuso project which we support via HoteliersGuild and our CHC-Alliance Partnership, and to present our request for your financial support. With your backing, we aim to expand this concept and assist the Corippo Foundation 1975 to acquire additional rustici to enrich th Corippo Albergo Diffuso appeal and economic viability, all while preserving its unique heritage.
Background: The Significance of Corippo
As you are, of course, well aware Corippo holds a special place in the Verzasca Valley, renowned for its preserved medieval architecture and distinctive stone houses. However, like many small alpine villages, Corippo faces challenges in sustaining a permanent population and maintaining economic activity, particularly in the off-season. To address these issues, the Corippo Foundation has launched the Albergo Diffuso concept, a "scattered hotel" model that turns Corippo into an authentic village-hotel, preserving its heritage while inviting tourists to experience life within its historic walls. We not only applaud their efforts, but are actively supporting them through our global membership.
Our Vision for the Albergo Diffuso
The Albergo Diffuso concept aligns with sustainable, cultural tourism principles and has three primary objectives:
1. Preservation of Heritage: By restoring Corippo's rustici as unique, comfortable guest accommodations, we can safeguard the village’s historical architecture and cultural identity. These restorations honor the traditional aesthetics and craftsmanship, offering visitors a window into the past while breathing life back into the village.
2. Year-Round Tourism: Traditional tourism in Corippo has primarily been seasonal, creating economic challenges for sustaining a thriving community. Our goal is to attract tourists yearround, especially in the quieter months from October to April, through activities and experiences that enhance Corippo's allure in the off-season. We envision winter walks, cultural workshops, and local culinary experiences that will make Corippo a sought-after destination all year.
3. Boosting the Local Economy: The increase in tourism will directly benefit the Verzasca Valley’s economy. Local businesses, artisans, and services will all see a rise in demand, and
as guest numbers grow, new opportunities for job creation and business ventures will emerge. The result is a more sustainable economy that supports Corippo and neighboring communities.
The Need to Acquire Additional Rustici
Currently, a limited number of rustici have been renovated and incorporated into the Albergo Diffuso, showing early success and strong visitor interest. However, to fully realize the potential of this initiative, it is essential to expand the number of available accommodations. Each additional rustico represents:
• Enhanced Visitor Capacity: Meeting demand from various groups, from couples to families, who seek an authentic experience within this unique village.
• Authentic Village Atmosphere: A critical mass of available rustici will help establish Corippo as a "living village" rather than simply a historical site. This organic feel of a livedin, active village is essential to the Albergo Diffuso experience and adds significantly to its appeal.
