Useful Information. Caring for your Leoline floor. Leoline floors are created to provide your home with a durable and lasting floor. To make sure your new Leoline floor keeps looking its best and lasts as it should follow these simple care guidelines. Appropriate maintenance procedures will help preserve the appearance and extend the life of your new Leoline floor. The frequency of maintenance will depend on the amount and type of traffic, degree of soiling and the floor colour and type. Some Leoline floors have a Superguard PU lacquer on top of the resistant wear layer. This protects against soiling and makes the maintenance of your new floor easier. Superguard also makes the application of a prior to use treatment with a protection polish unnecessary. For Leoline floors without Superguard PU lacquer, a gloss starter coating can be applied for extra protection of the surface. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions when applying the gloss
starter coating. Cleaning may be implemented 72 hours after installation. Try to prevent the floor coming into contact with water during this time, as the adhesive may not be completely dry. External Conditions The management of external conditions can help to protect your new Leoline floor, which saves time and expense on cleaning and maintenance and can extend its lifespan. Most soiling comes from an external source and is transported indoors by foot and wheeled traffic. If dirt lodges under moving furniture, the floor will not only be soiled, but will also suffer light damage in the form of scratches.
Mats A proper mat to clean off dirt is strongly recommended. It will reduce soiling of the flooring by as much as 70%. Entrance mats, when properly looked after, can effectively remove any abrasive and foreign materials and cut down on tracked-in water. Leoline recommends a minimum of two full strides of mat and regular cleaning is imperative in ensuring its efficiency. Prevent fibres of the mat from running or adhering together with dirt and replace the mat in time to ensure it continues to serve its function. Rubber and latex backed mats should be avoided as these may stain your Leoline floor. Visit www.leoline.ie to find more details and for your installation guide
