Selkirk is proud to offer the rare enamel collection of Lucy and Stanley Lopata, by descent. The St. Louis philanthropists, educators, and entrepreneurs spent decades collecting art highlighted by their special passion for enamels. Through personal gifts and their Lopata Endowment Fund, the couple placed world-class enamels in exhibitions and permanent collections at the St. Louis Art Museum, the Smithsonian, the Met, and other outstanding art institutions. While their collection mainly focused on French enamels from the Renaissance through Napoleon III periods, the couple also shared a passion for 18th century Chinese examples specifically from the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty.

This array of fine sterling comes from the collection of Joyce Schoedinger of Westerville, Ohio, a renowned collector who has been quoted in trade publications and newspapers over the years. Many styles and periods are represented within the collection as Joyce and her husband, Jay, traveled across the United States hunting for quality antiques eventually establishing one of the largest miniatures and diminutives collections in the entire country. Selkirk will be offering the miniature collection as part of an upcoming 2021 event.

Curating a collection of international Modernist jewelry was once a passion of legendary husband and wife professors and researchers, Dr. Albert de la Chapelle and Clara D. Bloomfield of Columbus, Ohio. Dr. de la Chapelle (1933-2020) was a Finnish geneticist and long-time head of the Department of Medical Genetics at University of Helsinki. His wife, Clara D. Bloomfield (1942-2020) was one of the nation's top cancer researchers and served as Director of The Ohio State University's Comprehensive Cancer Center from 1997-2003. The well credentialed couple made a lasting impact on American medicine as evidenced by their many honors which included Anders Jahre Prize 1989, William Allen Award 2002, Joseph H. Burchenal Clinical Research Award 2004, as well Legend and Lifetime achievement awards.
