NAM ACTING CLUB  This is a group of people Passionate about the art of acting. They meet on a regular basis to be equipped, learn acting skills, sharpen their skill, inter-act with people that have the same common goal and get information on what is happening in the industry of acting.  The Club wants to be part of Vision 2030, in producing actors with excellence.

Objectives     

To equip Actors Assist Actors to sharpen their skills To develop new talent and improve their skills Connect the Actors with the industry Organizing performances and filming, to keep the actors ready for gigs.

Vision  Our main aim is to give Namibian Actors a platform to exercises their talent and equip them for the industry to contribute to the Namibian quality film and theater industry. Goal  Be the leading club in producing Namibian actors and actresses with excellence, that do not fake it but became the characters their portraying.

What does Nam Acting Club offer? Week1 -2 1. Introduction to the course  Introduction of the members  Activity  Giving the members all the information they need to know about the Club  Allowing time for question about the club  Homework (Actors go and think and write a summary of why they choose acting and why they want to be part of the club. They must also work on any form of acting which they will present in front of other members. 2. Why acting – Why they want to be Actors and Actresses  Warm up activities  Presentations from members (former Experiences) Week3-4

3. Team bonding activities – for the team to be a family  Team acting Activities Week5-6 4. Self activities – for actors to believe in themselves  Motivation talk  Rejection, Positive criticism, Persistence  Activities on being unique and standing out

Week7-8 5. Introduction to acting – This is where they get the understanding of what acting is all about.  What is acting  What makes a good actor  What makes a bad actor  Skills need in this field  Activities Week9-10

6. Tongue twisters  Reading of monologues  Tongue Twisters exercises  Eloquent speaking and pronunciation Week11-12 7. Projection and Accent – Speaking loud without screaming and studying the accent of your character.  Projection activities  Activities on different accents

NB The dates for the filming of the short film and showcasing of the theater play will be announce depending on the progress the members have made. How the Nam Acting Club will run  The group will have about 40 members max in training (Chosen by auditions)  With two sessions teenagers in the afternoon and adults in the evening  For training the actors will sign a year contract  The members will meet once a week to be equipped and extra days if need be  Progress of the actors will be monitored  Upon finishing the sessions members will be awarded with a certificate  Holidays will be according to school calendar

After being equipped for a year  Members will meet every second week for an hour according to class -To catch up -Share information -Do activities

Payment method 1) Teenagers – N$30, 00 per month (excluding holiday months) 2) Adults – N$60 per month *This small payment is made in order for members to take the seriousness of being part of the club to heart, seeing that people always tend to take free things for granted and it will contribute to the development of the club.
