The guillotine, much like any other machine we design, craft and sell today is as much a product of evolution as innovation. That is a really big idea when you are talking about a company such as Morgan Rushworth, whose story began all the way back in 1872, not too long after the industrial revolution, at a time when Britain lead the way with engineering feats that quite literally turned dreams into reality and made the impossible an everyday occurrence.

Today’s Morgan Rushworth sheet metal guillotines represent some of the finest of their type in the world, driving our industry into the new millennium much like their predecessors drove the booms that followed the industrial revolution and the war effort. The RGMS range of powered mechanical guillotines are designed for fast, accurate, cutting of sheet material. They are available in a wide range of capacities and feature a programmable, powered back gauge.

Machine Features

• Mono Block, welded steel frame rigid to deflection movement and of high tensile strength.

The Morgan Rushworth XRG powered guillotine shears are designed for high production, precision cutting while at the same time maintaining low operating costs with minimal maintenance requirements. They are very well engineered and are able to sustain production at a high number of cuts per minute without impacting on the cut quality. All XRG models feature pneumatic sheet supports, which give the alternative of dropping cut parts to the front or rear of the machine. If using the return to front system an optional removable trolley can be ordered for easy handling of cut parts.

HSGS NC Swing Beam Guillotine

Features and Benefits

The powerful Morgan Rushworth HSGS range of hydraulic swing beam sheet metal guillotines are now available with the new optional advanced front light guard design. This consists of multiple beams directed across the front of the blade and hold downs, which immediately switches the machine off if interrupted.

The advantage of this innovative system ensures both increased operator safety and vastly improved vision to the work piece as the traditional guard is no longer necessary. The HSGS range also benefits from the standard fitment of stainless steel cutting blades. The NC Controller ensures accurate cutting and complete cutting lists with quantities can be programmed for efficiency.

The powerful BHGS range of hydraulic swing beam sheet metal guillotines are equipped with a high visibility front guard design consisting of a fixed guard with windows. All machines are fitted with stainless steel quality cutting blades as standard, giving flexibility to cut a range of materials without detriment to blade life.

The user friendly Cybtouch 8 NC controller ensures accurate cutting with precision back gauge setting and the facility to store complete cutting lists including length and quantity. For longer lengths an automatic swing away backgauge is standard.

The Morgan Rushworth HSVS range of variable rake CNC sheet metal guillotines are heavy duty, strong machines designed for a long working life. The CNC controller automatically calculates and adjusts the blade gap, the back gauge position, cutting angle and stroke length simultaneously once the data is entered. Therefore the strokes per minute cutting cycle is significantly increased. The cutting angle automatically adjusts according to material thickness minimising the twisting of sheet during the cutting cycle.
