Bandsaw & Circular Saw Technology Explained

Here at Selmach we offer a wide range of sawing machinery, to suit a wide range of applications, industries and requirements. Depending on your budget, the size of material you need to cut, and the type of cut you seek, we have a machine to suit.

Horizontal Bandsaws

The bulk of our saw range are horizontal bandsaws, from the budget Sterling Swift models for small fabricators and welders, all the way up to the Bianco and Sterling CNC models, capable of advanced repeat cutting and processing. We further split our horizontal bandsaws down depending on their levels of automation;

Manual

Our range of manual saws are ideal for your initial start-up workshops. With pull-down action, or gravity down feed, these saws will offer accurate cutting time and time again.

Semi-Automatic

As well as gravity down feed, the semi-automatic models feature bow-return as standard, meaning you can set-up your cut and let the saw do the work while you work on other tasks.

Automatic

“Set and forget” automatic saws allow you choose a desired length, and the number of cuts you want and leave the saw running. Again, available as pivot action or twin column to suit the materials to be cut.

CNC

Our range of CNC pivot action or twin-column saws allow for truly automated cutting. Pre-configured programs with varying lengths and angles can be fed in to the saw, allowing the entire length of material is processed by the saw without any further operator input required. Optional loading systems and powered roller track can make minimal work of heavy-duty material processing.

Vertical Bandsaws

More commonly seem in woodworking environments, for precision profile cutting, or curved cutting, a vertical bandsaw provides functionality that cannot be achieved with a horizontal bandsaw or a circular saw.

Circular Saws

The trusted circular saw is still the machine of choice for a variety of industries. Offering quick and efficient cutting for small diameter tube, box and flats. Available as a standard manual pull-down or semi-automatic model.
