SEMILLAS FITÓ Is the Spanish seed multinational leading the Mediterranean area Semillas Fitó was founded in Barcelona in 1880 and today is a leading seed company in the Mediterranean area .

Some facts about the company: •

500 employees worldwide.

One of the top 10 seed companies around the world.

More than 300 varieties grown in the different national registries.

2,500 plots for corn research.

Over 2,000 varieties tested annually.

More than 15% of turnover invested in R & D with the goal of commercializing high quality seeds.

BIOTECHNOLOGY Semillas Fitó has established its main Bio-tech center in Cabrera de Mar, located 20 km from Barcelona . On this site, nearly 50 researchers in plant biotechnology are working in the following applications: • The molecular marking which provides the genetic information needed to guide breeding programs • The in vitro culture that accelerates the process of selection and breeding of pure lines • The selection diseases

LAS CASAS DE BARBENS In 2015 the new processing and logistics center in Las Casas de Barbens (Lerida - Spain) began to be operational . It is the largest logistics seed center in Southern Europe . In total there are 250,000 m3 of warehouses and 40,000 m3 of cold storage, expandable to 60,000 m3 . On the one hand we have the breeding station with 135ha dedicated to research and improvement of Field Crops . There are installed new technologies applied to corn breeding (irrigation system, seed densities analysis, disease resistance, etc .) But not only for corn, is this station a bet for research into other important crops such as Alfalfa, Sunflower and Sorghum .

DEFI Genetics The company, with its office at Delley (Switzerland), is in charge to continue the breeding work for early corn varieties in the FAO maturity group 200 to 300 . The shares belong at 45% to DSP Ltd and at 55% to Semillas Fitó . With this collaboration, DSP gets new funds for its maize program, and Semillas Fitó secures its independence when it comes to early maturity germplasm . DSP is a multinational company focused in seed improvement, production and commercialization . In addition to corn, DSP also works with crops such as wheat, triticale, species of hay and soya in cooperation with the Agroscope test stations . DSP was founded in 1994 and at the present time works in Switzerland with varieties that are marketed in more than 20 countries of Europe, North and South America and New Zealand .

DON BENITO

An R&D station in Don Benito (Badajoz - Spain) for the development of long cycles . • Research on the subject of corn tolerance to hydric stress in heat . Resistance to soil fungi: Cephalosporium (with tests in the Guadalquivir and the Tagus river valleys) . • The southernmost research station in Europe . • Very good seed multiplication with respect to its sanitary appearance and very fast drying . Excellent seed health .

Test de vigueur Fitó

Test of Vigour Fitó: TVF®

Semillas Fitó’s goal is to offer the best seed QUALITY always . In order to achieve this, Semillas Fitó has developed tests to reproduce various planting conditions . These tests are aimed to check the quality of lots for germination, the homogeneity of seedlings, but also the ability to resist against deseases . Tests are carried out to check vigour in stressful thermal conditions . Test principle: • Germination of 500 grains in a substrate (soil) at low temperatures . • Counting the number of emerged seedlings to 6 days, 9 days and 12 days . • Counting the number of seedlings at 2-leaf stage to 21 days .

ADVANTAGES: • To assure a better performance • An increase in the number of grains per plant • Better plant defense in difficult conditions

8

Fito Care®: A new seed treatment approach Fito Care® “Genuis Coat TM” is a balanced combination of humic and fulvic acids applied to processing of corn seeds . “Genuis Coat TM” contributes to better protection of corn from the early stages, improving the productive potential . What are the humic and fulvic acids? The humic and fulvic acids acids derived from leonardite humate . They act complementing the soil structure and facilitate proper nutrition plant .

Benefits of humic acid on corn cultivation • Better use of water (reduced water consumption for the same mass of dry matter) • Increase the length of the roots after germination . • Increased biomass (leaves, stems, etc .) • Enhances earliness to bloom

Optimizing performance in adverse conditions: Due to the improvement of soil properties, a more balanced plant nutrition allows a better response of corn in cold stress conditions .

ESPECIALLY RECOMMENDED: • Sowings with soil temperature below 12 ° C or unexpected drops in temperature . • Soils deficient in phosphorus . • Long cycles corn with early sowings .

9

FlexEau®

Semillas Fitó offers a wide selection of corn seeds that optimizes production in areas where water stress can affect production potential . Semillas Fitó is the only seed company that carries out the development of varieties in southern Europe weather conditions with warm and dry summers . That is why our varieties can withstand moments of water shortage and high temperature peaks better than other hybrids in the market . The FlexEau concept gives us valuable information about our varieties performance in water stress conditions . This protocol consists of: • Testing without irrigation (or limited to a minimum to ensure the survival of plants) . • Program the irrigation system based on limited and fractional amounts . • Set risks with a sudden stop after flowering . • Set risks without limitations .

The FlexEau concept aims to select hybrids with the best performance to preserve a high production capacity although the conditions for irrigation are not optimal .
