Bali officials reproach media for reporting man’s death was due to COVID-19 vaccine

Officials in Bali have reproached media outlets for reporting that the death of a man in Denpasar on Monday was related to his recent COVID-19 vaccination. The officials say the link has yet to be established. “It’s very regrettable that there are many news reports saying that the victim died because of the vaccine, when there is no official explanation from any competent party,” Gede Pramana, Head of the Communications, Informatics and Statistics Agency in Bali, said yesterday.

Pramana said that negative reports regarding vaccinations that are presented without accurate data may increase anxiety among the public.

“So don’t make the connection that someone dying is due to COVID or someone dying a few days after getting the vaccine is due to the vaccine.”

On Monday, a man in his 40s identified as MAM was found dead and alone in the room he rented at a boarding house (kost) in Denpasar. According to the chief of the village where MAM lived, the deceased got his AstraZeneca vaccine shot last Saturday. Bali Health Agency Chief Ketut Suarjaya said MAM had been sick for about a week prior to his death, and had been resting up in his home a lot as he suffered from headaches and cold sweats. He also confirmed that MAM had a history of high blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol.

Indonesia recently recalled nearly halfa-million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine for analysis amid concerns of severe side effects and possible links to several deaths. However, the National Commission on Post-Immunization Accidents (Komnas KIPI) said that as of last Friday, there have been no deaths related to any COVID-19 vaccination in Indonesia.

“We cannot conclude that [MAM] died because of the vaccine. After getting the vaccine there was an observation and he was fine,” Suarjaya said.

“The results of investigations on suspected deaths due to the Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines showed that they were unrelated to the vaccines, but were due to underlying illnesses,” the commission said in a statement. Those illnesses include heart disease, impaired kidney function, diabetes, and uncontrolled hypertension. (coconuts.co)

News Compressed A Short Run-Down Of Stuff That Didn't Make It Into a Full Article Beside all that COVID-19 madness and the fact that almost all news are focusing on the development of the pandemic on the island there are still other things going on. A 24-year-old man has been found unconscious on the streets of Denpasar early last week. The man, originally from Labuan Batu, in North Sumatra (not to confuse with Labuan Bajo in Komodo) arrived via ferry at the port of Padang Bai and has planned to continue his trip to the city of Jember in east Java. Due to the lack of funds to pay for any kind of transport he started walking. We couldn't find any more information where he actually started his trip initially but according to the reports he started walking on April 27 somewhere in

Lombok. When he finally arrived in Denpasar he was reportedly walking for around 3 weeks, haven’t eaten since days which finally led to his collapse on Jalan Diponegoro. A staff members from the Denpasar Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Made Sanjaya, confirmed that his agency has taken care of the man and has provided him with medical treatment and with free transport to his destination in Jember. A drinking session involving a 51-year-old man and his father in Bali’s Buleleng regency didn’t end well for both of the man earlier last week. According to the reports

the 51-year-old has been arrested after allegedly killing his 72-year-old father with an iron crowbar. The old man died after suffering from severe injuries on his head along with multiple bruises all over his body and a broken leg. The son is now facing up to 15 years behind bars for for assault that leads to death plus another 5 years for assaulting a family member. We couldn’t find any reports about his motive for this outbreak of violence For the third time since the beginning of this month local news channels have reported the arrest of an Indonesian man accused of raping a 12-year-old girl. The man was arrested after the girls mother filed a police report a day after the incident. Earlier this month a civil servant has been arrested for raping a 10-year-old girl while 5 men have been arrested at the beginning of the month after gang raping an 18-year-old girl. The girl filed a police report by herself the next day leading to the arrest of the 5 culprits. All suspect in all cases are facing up to 15 years in jail for their actions. The head of the Bali Office for the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, Jamaruli Manihuruk, has announced that his party is set to relocate a number of prisoners from overcrowded penitentiaries to less densely populated ones. “Whenever a prison is overcrowded by a factor of 300% we will then relocate some of the prisoners to other facilities. Generally, prisons in Bali are overcrowded by a factor of 200%,” Manihuruk told the press in a pretty weird statement adding that Bali’s notorious Kerobokan prison is currently overcrowded by 500%. The prison was initially designed and build to accommodate 350 prisoners. If Manihuruk’s statement is correct the Kerobokan prison is currently housing 2,100 prisoners. Being jailed is no fun at all but this is simply inhumane. Registtration Or Ban Facebook, TikTok, Clubhouse And Other Social Media Platforms Face Possible Ban In Indonesia

Facebook, TikTok, Clubhouse and othe international social media giants may be banned in Indonesia within the next six months if they don’t register with the Indonesian Information and Communications Ministry as an Electronic System Providers (PSE) .

If the ministry's order for them to be legally registered in the country proves to be more than a bluff Indonesia, one of the counties with the largest social media user-base worldwide, is probably facing some sort of revolution should the threatened ban really be enforced. The regulation forcing PSE’s operating in Indonesia to officially register for the sake of cyber security and user protection has been issued on

November 24 last year with the deadline ending on Monday this week. But, due to a delay in the development of the online registration application, this deadline has been extended by another six months starting o, June 2 when the registration application is supposed to be finally launched, the ministry’s Director General of Applications and Information, Samuel A. Pangerapan, stated in a press release on Monday.

stated their intention to register as PSE in Indonesia since the ministry passed the regulation last year and it seems they have simply ignored the new regulation. The whole registration thing is probably more related to taxation and other money related things than to cyber security and user protection as only companies officially registered in the country can be taxed for their income generated in Indonesia.

Not one of the major social media platforms has publicly

On The Road Again… Soon… Jerinx Set For Release After Supreme Court Rejects Latest Appeals Despite the massive attention I Gede Ari Astina’s, commonly known as Jerinx, court case and his imprisonment have gained at the end of the last and earlier this year it has been relatively quiet around the drummer of Bali’s (and Indonesia’s) Punk band “Superman is Dead” during the last months. The case has now made it to

the headlines again after the Indonesian Supreme Court has rejected the appeals of the public prosecutor to extend Jerinx’s sentence from 10 to 14 months.

After Brian proposed to Jill, his father took him to one side. “Son, when I first got married to your mother, the first thing I did when we got home was take off my pants. I gave them to your mother and told her to try them on, which she did. They were huge on her and she said that she couldn’t wear them because they were too large. I said to her, 'Of course they are too big for you, I wear the pants in this family and I always will.' Ever since that day, son, we have never had a single problem." Brian took his dad’s advice and did the same thing to his wife on his wedding night. Then, Jill took off her panties and gave them to Brian. “Try these on,” she said. Brian went along with it and tried them on, but they were far too small. “What’s the point of this? I can’t get into your panties,” said Brian. “Exactly,” Jill replied, “and if you don’t change your attitude, you never will!” A man goes into a pet shop, wanting to buy a bird. He sees a beautiful bird, the loveliest he’s ever seen, and asks how much it is. The shop owner replies, “That bird is $1000.” “What?!” cries the man, “$1000 for a bird? What does it do?” “Well, I’m glad you asked,” says the shop owner. “You see, that bird can sing every female role in our opera house from memory.”The man thinks, OK but I can’t afford the bird. He sees a shorter, but still beautiful, bird and asks how much that one is. “That bird is $2000,” replies the shop owner, and the man asks what this bird can do. “Well, he can play any Paganini concerto that you request on the violin from memory.” The man thinks wow, but I really can’t afford that bird.He then sees an ancient, hunched, half-dead, ugly, bald bird sitting in the corner of a cage, and, thinks that this bird couldn’t cost very much. He asks the shop owner. “Oh, that bird is $20000,” he replies. Shocked, the man asks what this bird does. “Oh, we haven’t found out yet,” the owner replies. “But the other two call him Maestro.” Two drunks were in a bar partying like fools. They were drinking whisky, buying rounds like there was no tomorrow. They were dancing, calling each other “professor“, and generally getting a lot of attention. When asked why they were having such a celebration, they said proudly that they’ve just finished a jigsaw puzzle and it only took them 2 months! “Two months?!” cried the bartender. “That’s ridiculous. It shouldn’t take that long!” “Oh, yeah?” says one drunk. “But the box said 2-4 years!” Peter goes to a psychologist. “Doctor, I’ve got trouble,” he says. “Every time when I get into bed, I think there is somebody under it. I get under the bed and I think there is somebody on top of it. Top, under, top, under. I think I am crazy!” The doctor thinks for a moment. Then he says, “Just be my patient for 2 years. Come to me three times a week and I will help you.” “How much will I pay?” Peter asks. “A hundred Dollars per visit,” the doctor says. Peter replies, “I’ll think about it.” Peter never visits the doctor again. Sometime later, he meets the doctor on the street. “Why didn’t you come to see me again?” the doctor asks. “A hundred dollars per visit? It’s too expensive for me. A barman helped me for 10 dollars.” The doctor is surprised, “What did he do with you?” “He told me to cut off the legs of the bed.” The new employee stood before the paper shredder and was looking confused. “Do you need some help?” a secretary asked. “Yes,” he replied, “how does this thing work?” “It’s simple,” she said, taking the fat report from his hand and putting it into the shredder. “Thanks, this makes a bit more clear but where do the copies come out?” A man show up at a bar every evening, orders three beer, drinks them and leaves. One day the barkeeper ask him why he is doing this every evening. “One beer is for me, one is for my brother in America and the third one is for my brother in Australia,” the man explains. “Alright, that makes sense,” the barkeeper replies. One evening the man only orders two beer. Concerned he asks the man “Sorry to bother you again but I am a bit concerned. Did anything happen to one of your brothers?” “No,” the man answers. “I just stopped drinking,” Crossword solutiion from page 8 Crossword solution from page 22

There was a preacher who fell in the ocean and he couldn’t swim. When a boat came by, the captain yelled, “Do you need help, sir?” The preacher calmly said, “No, God will save me.” A little later, another boat came by and a fisherman asked, “Hey, do you need help?” The preacher replied again, “No, God will save me.” Finally, the preacher drowned and went to heaven. The preacher asked God, “God, why didn’t you save me?” God replied, “You are a fool, I just sent you two boats!” A very drunk man gets home and starts to open the door but he is too drunk to manage it. His wife hears some noise at the door and gets out on the the balcony. Seeing her husband in front of the house she shouts “Should I throw you the key?” “No. I already have the key,” he shouts back, “Throw me the lock!” 20
