BUDGET INTERPELLATION QUESTIONS FOR THE COMMISSION ON ELECTIONS (COMELEC) 1. Regardless of the pandemic, our country will hold its elections on May next year. That means that we will have to incorporate health protocols during the election to reduce or minimize, if not totally eliminate, the hazards relating to the pandemic. a. Is the COMELEC taking steps to ensure that all persons discharging election-related tasks inside the precincts are fully-vaccinated, including poll assistants and watchers? b. Is there a plan in place for senior citizens and voters with co-morbidities on election day to reduce their risks of contracting COVID-19 even if they are vaccinated already? c. Health protocols necessitate slower precinct accommodations and more distributed areas for voting. How does COMELEC intend to handle the volume of voters for next year?
