Intersection often refers to the junction of space. But today's rapid technological development and tremendous changes in social structure make the intersection more than just a space but all aspects of classes, history, culture even relationships with other creatures. Landscape, as a discipline at the intersection, needs to assume the responsibility of resolving conflicts. Combining my multidisciplinary background, I try to use the interdisciplinary approaches to resolve the conflicts at the intersection. I will explain from four aspects how the landscape resolves the conflict in the intersection: reconciling, understanding, connecting, co-existing.

BUTTERFLY UTOPIA Future City Design Where Humans And Animals Coexist Bay Checkerspot Butterfly is an endangered species in the San Jose area. It is an umbrella species that indirectly protect many other species. Understanding the weakness of urban sprawl in San Jose, the designers aim to create a COEXISTING living environment for both human and Checkerspot butterfly. To break up the traditional grid layout, the designers include more native species and integrate a continuous habitat into the new city plan.

Brazil's complex social structure has caused disorderly expansion of slums, and Male is one of the representatives of many slums. But this chaos has contributed to the flourishing of slum music. The design attempts to us local music as the starting point to create a transformation space guided by the rhythm of music, in order to promote people to UNDERSTAND each other. This kind of intervention can alleviate the conflict between the government and the residents, and at the same time guide the residents to make an orderly transformation in a familiar way. 07

FLOWING CIRCUIT BOARD Technology Park Design There is an underutilized land within the South China University of Technology. Residents and students are calling to make a change to turning this site into a future technology park. Inspired by the circuit board, the designer translates resources into voltage, resistance, and currents flowing in the circuit. Resources and the flow of people can penetrate each other and flow in an orderly manner through the constraints of the building. Efficient and leisure, ecology and technology are all CONNECTED together in an orderly manner by the circuit board. 13
Present Situation——Blocked Circuit
Zone
There are three main types of people around, and their daily circulation is blocked by the venue. The natural and scientific resources in the site have not been used neither. Therefore, the current flow of people and resources are like blocked circuit.

TOURIST TRANSIT-ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT Traffic-based Landscape Planning to Reconcile Complex Traffic Around A Busy Tourist Center

Baiyun Mountain Area in Guangzhou has great development potential, accompanied by a variety of complex transportation methods. In order to cope with the large number of people in the future, the design is guided by traffic and redefines the way of sightseeing. Planning and integrating multiple transportation routes on a large scale, and building a tourist TOD center on a small scale to divert and ease the flow of people, so that various transportation methods and scenic spots can be CONNECTED together to form a complete tour experience 19
W h y We N e e d To u r i s t Tr a n s i t Oriented Development Here?
There are many scenic spots around the site, attracting more and more tourists to visit, which also caused great traffic pressure. At the same time, the increase in the proportion of foreign tourists also makes it urgent to upgrade the surrounding area

Large Scale—How to Coordinate the Traffic?
Input Flow —— Public Transport
Output Flow —— Walkway
Output Flow —— Characteristic Traffic
Based on the calculation of theory and data, various transportation modes are designed to ease the flow of people and give visitors different experiences.
The convenient public transportation and enough parking lots enable the scenic spot to have a greater visitor throughput.
A large number of pedestrian paths can carry a large number of people, giving tourists a good slow travel experience.
The characteristic traffic evacuates the crowd while providing different sightseeing experiences.
Theory——TOD Peter Kalthorp formally proposed the concept of Transit Oriented development in 1992,which was popularized and applied in some cities in the United States. TOD stands for "public transport-oriented development model".It is a "mixed use" of work, business, culture, education, housing and so on, with public transport stations as the center and 5-10 minutes walking distance as the radius of the city center. Small Scale—How Architecture Is Generated? All traffic is organized by the tourist TOD building, and there are different ways to visit each subdivision, and the station area is arranged according to the number of visitors.
Theory——Multidemensional Narration of City Image
As an important embodiment of urban soft power, city image has gradually become the focus of competition among cities since Kevin Lynch put forward this concept in 1960. Through media communication in various ways, the image of a city plays an important role in improving the visibility of the city and attracting foreign investment and tourists.
Concept
The site is divided into five sections to display various characteristics of Guangzhou. Different modes of transportation provide different sightseeing experiences and give you a full view of Guangzhou.

Landscape Sight At the junction of the ground-floor building and the surrounding hillside, the arc-shaped building edge encloses a gray space, allowing the building and the landscape to merge with each other and frame the beautiful scenery
Commercial Sight There are many commercial spaces inside the building. Recessed buildings form a lot of small platform spaces and increase outdoor commerce.
Transportation ight The overhead platform on the first floor provides a transition space for complex ground transportation. On the first floor, pedestrians and vehicles are divided, and different types of transportation are divided into zones, making the traffic space efficient and safe 24
