Easy Homemade Indoor Plant Fertiliser

Eggshells

• Boil 3 eggs (eat them for breakfastno wasting here!) and let the water cool down. Use this micronutrient and calcium-rich mixture to water your indoor plants.

Aquarium Water

Did you know that fish poop makes your fish tank water REALLY high in loads of the nutrients your plants love?

Rice Water

• Soak some rice in cold water for a few hours. Drain the water from the rice, and use it to give your indoor plants a boost of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and microelements!

Coffee

• Do you have leftover black coffee? Let it cool and water your plants that like acidic soil.

Ash

• Have you had a braai recently? Sprinkle a tablespoon full of the ash left over onto the soil in your indoor pot plants. The ash contains some important nutrients that may be lacking in your soil.

Banana Peels

• Cut banana peels into small pieces and put them into a bowl of water covered with a dish towel for 3 days, until water turns brown. Strain peels from the water and create a mix of half banana-water, half tap water. Water plants with this mixture once a week for a major boost!
